Detroit goes bankrupt !

Detroit loss 45% of there population in the last few years. An average wait time for police 59 minutes. Police and firefighters may only get 10 cents on the dollar for there pensions. Over 100000 creditors owed money is this the future of all the cities in the U.S. And Canada?

I think if Detroit doesn't clean up there act in the next 10-25 years, we could be looking at the biggest ghost town in history.

I mean, could you imagine it? They will probably tear down some skyscrapers and buildings for scrap metal, more people will lose their jobs, no one will live there anymore.
-
Oh well

The not so funny thing about all this is that the movie Robo Cop predicted this future. Lol

Detroit used to be a hub of industry for the US. Ford motor company was born and raised there. Lots of great musicians have come from Detroit also. It's a terrible thing for America that its been allowed to fall into such a sad state of disrepair and neglect. -

American jewelry and loans in detroit won't go bankrupt 😜

I truly hope the emergency manager can really turn Detroit around in the next 15 months. With an uneducated and corrupt city council, fast decreasing population, and failing everything the future for Detroit does not look promising.

I have a question for everyone.
Given the current state of the city of Detroit, would you be opposed to extreme federal intervention in order to prevent the city from "dying," or would you rather see the continuous mismanagement of the city on a state level lead to its demise?

Let the city die. No more bail outs. How the hell do you let a city get into such debt. I mean $18.5 billion. One would think that they would have noticed something is wrong when they were $1 billion in debt . The more money you give them the more they spend. Detroit is just the beginning I foresee a national economic collapse. We as a Nation are spending more money then we collect in revenue. It's an unstable economic system.I have a question for everyone.

This is not simply a matter of mismanagement. The complexities surrounding the decline of Detroit are unique to anything going on in any significant city in the US. Lets not act like experts.

Robocop the prophecy is being fufilled

I'm no expert on the topic, but it's possible this could ultimately work out. People move out, property values plummet. Infrastructure remains, along with an inexpensive work force, making it a desirable location to start a business. This won't happen over night, and there are darker days ahead, but I don't see it as a doom and gloom situation. It's an example of why corruption and debt must be dealt with quickly.

Western people simply don't seem to care about their countries on a whole. It's a selfish, dog-eat-dog 'civilisation' we have here. -
What's a damn shame is the police, firemen, and others whose pensions that have depended on this. They are the worst affected.
