Law enforcement opinions

So I know there use to be a few of the local finest around here so I have a question for you and others opinions. So my neighbors moved in only about 4 months ago and ever since they moved in my back hard smells like weed and other scents that I am unaware of. They have a few kids that are always left outside and they even come over and play with my kids and said they are not allowed inside during the day. There is constant foot/vehicle traffic in and out of the house. So do I just ignore it and mind my own? Or do I report it? And if I report it is there a way to do it anonymously because I am military and deploy/tdy alot and don't want to leave my wife/kids in a vulnerable house.

Theres a difference between the smell of growing weed and weed that is being smoked. If its because they smoke weed you cant do anything about it but if they are growing, that is illegal unless you are in a state that allows growing for medicinal purposes. An anonymous call will get the police to check it out. I think in the states, smell of weed is a reasonable doubt and gives them the right to search the house.

😂😂😂 almost as funny as hillbillies postJust moved in to a new neighborhood 4 months ago. I'm a vegan and grow all sorts of vegetables. My neighbor keeps giving me weird looks.I dunno if its because I make my kids play out side like kids should. Maybe because he thinks my swinger life style isn't kosher. I dunno, but the police want to interview me. Strange...I didn't even apply for a job there.

Even if you notify the police with your name, and they find nothing then you can get charged for it. Unless you have solid proof I say just mind your own.

What is potentially criminal in expressing your concerns to the police regarding something you find suspicious?
If the police investigate your complaint and find no criminal activity, what crime would you be charged with?

I forget what the actual charge is, but is basically a false accusation and wasting the police time. That's only if you give your name, now if its anonymous then they might check it out. I only know cuz I was in sorta the same situation called the police they checked it out found nothing and they came to me with a nice I think it was 100.00 ticket for wasting their time.Ʈɧḛ Ƥuɳḭʂђeŗ wrote:

For the first time you reported something?
I can hardly believe that. I've works in law enforcement for over 10 years, I personally have never seen anybody prosecuted or fined for reporting activity they find suspicious.
On one occasion one drug dealer reported on another drug dealer and both were prosecuted, but that's as close as it gets.

That sounds really odd..I'd call the cops because kids and weed dont belong together..
-
I would call the cops just in case the place get filled with bullets holes from other gang.
Maybe try and do it on the d-low if you can
May not be a bad idea to start looking for a new place I know that sucks but it may protect your kids from the situation -
Knock on their door and ask them if you can borrow a lighter
