We're advancing in technology at an incredible rate. Forget 3000 the next 50 yours are gonna be amazing times. Think Minority Report, the technologies used in that film have been in research for many, many years. 3000 though, most probably galactic colonisation, space travel... The only way is up.

I think it's as likely that 3000 looks a lot like 1000. Space simply isn't important anymore.

Interesting concept but when you take in to our needs for resources expanding to a new planet would make more sense. There's already planned events to build space stations on the moon to explore colonisation. But there's so much to learn up there we don't even touch 1% of our solar system right now.

I have to agree with vadan, check out engadet their are amazing things going on out their, like controlling your iPod by touching certain parts of your arm, t shirts telling u if u have mail and how much, cars that drive themselves, jet packs. In the year 3000 these will all be ancient technoloy and the iPhone will be in a museum somewhere with people studying it's uses in the ancient times lol!
