Honestly, saving people's lives is an amazing experience, but otherwise it's just a lot of blood, sweat, tears and smoke. Literally.A firefighter 🚒 They are awesome.

True. We had a fire last shift that had a 44 y/o fatality. Lots of smoke & sweat but not a great experience. It never is when someone is losing their stuff or getting hurt.4nick8r wrote:

Part of my job (forestry) involves fighting bush/forest fires. I find that fire season is an exhausting but satisfying time of year. 👍 -

I would either want to be a great white shark to explore the water life, or a bald eagle.. Can't go wrong with flying high 😉

Yes, I work for a city now. I used to be a Hot Shot for the forest service in California. I loved it too, but it was exhausting. It's good to hear that Turfa has an awesome job. What does Turfa do?4nick8r wrote:

I'm actually going into being a firefighter. Taking an EMT class next semester and then it's off to the firefighting classes and activities. Can't wait!

Classes are good for head knowledge, but pay close attention to training activities. Practice the various procedures as many times as your instructors will allow - try to get to the point where they happen automatically. When you begin to perform each action without needing to think about it, you will be able to concentrate on staying aware of your surroundings.I'm actually going into being a firefighter. It's no good concentrating fully on coupling hoses etc. if you aren't aware of hazards to yourself or others developing nearby.
Practice, practice, practice. You'll be ok mate. It's a challenging job, but it is very rewarding. Good luck! 👍👍
