screw verizon. they knock on our door a couple times a month trying to get us to switch. last time i was working on our kitchen. i answered the door with a paint roller in hand abd paint on my shirt. he starts his sales pitch and i nicely told him i was busy and not interested. he kept trying to talk i kept saying not now. finally i said does it look like this is a good time to you holding up the roller and slammed the door in his face. all he did was make sure ill stay with comcast and at&t. too bad for him because i would have listened to check it out if i wasnt busy.Verizon Fios

Salesman are trained to take a minimum of 3 "NO's" before letting someone go. I worked at a nation wide lawn care business and we trained DAILY on ways to keep the potential customer talking in hopes that we could change their mind.

common sense should have told the guy ti ditch the sales pitch and maybe just give me some info papers or something. i was visibly annoyed. 2 months earlier 2 guys from verizon did the sane thing. my gf had just got out of the shower and was wearing a towel. she opened the window cause she thought her sister was here early. she told them she wasnt dressed and about to leave and they kept trying to get her to the door. 2 strange men trying to get a naked woman to the door. if i gad been there i would have gone outside and kicked the shit out of them for being just plain stupid. theres a time to follow sales rules, they do work. but at times common sense has to kick in.

2mb broadband is the minimum you'll need for Xbox/ps3 etc. each device you connect will use up your bandwidth but as long as your not using the phones etc it doesn't matter. Isn't broadband at a standard 8-10mb anyway these days so just go for the best deal
-
Wireless routers generally have a pool of 100 available ip addresses, you should be fine there.

I used to have fios and loved it for online gaming . I moved to an area that only offers Comcast and it's not all that good. They drop the connection from time to time. They told me might be my modem So after upgrading firmware and having the same problem. I purchased a new modem . Same problem. Point of the story is Comcast sucks.
-
I'm a little confused. Get a modem from Comcast. Buy your own router lest you pay monthly for wireless too. The standard speed comes for around $60/month. You can probably get away with less. Ask how easy they can upgrade you if you're not happy with a lower speed. Don't go with an all wireless/hot spot type provider if they promise lower bills. You'll burn through the allotted data usage quickly.

About the salesman thing, he's just doing his job. He was most likely trained to keep trying even if the customer didn't want to. He probably has a tough time in his job because of people like you who just yell at him for doing his job.

i got nothing against him doing his job, ive been there. theres a point when you're hurting yourself when you just need to stop. i tried being nice and polite and so did she. i hear similar stories about there sales teams all the time from other people where i live. in the end from what people tell me its costing them customers. im a plumber and go to a lot different neighborhoods, rich and poor and hear it a lot. it turns a lot of people off.About the salesman thing, he's just doing his job. Most TWC is good for gaming and works fine for other Internet, if you bundle you can save on phone and tv too. Or at least we cut down our bill when we switched.
