Hi, I'm a bricklayer by trade but with the economy being the way it is I have no work. I'm thinking of changing career and was wondering if anyone had any advice on learning methods for C++ or other languages. Thanks in advance.

Once you learn one, the others are really similar. Grab a book and start reading!

If that ain't the truth, but alot of companies are starting to look for COBOL, SQL, PERL, and other older language programmers with knowledge of newer languages to help with system conversions. Personally I'd stick with web programming as that is the way things are moving. Backbone programming generally is in place and only needs occasional maintainence. Web development is always evolving.Computer jobs are all getting outsourced to India.
