Safe zones - your opinions!
Forums › General Discussion › Safe zones - your opinions!-
What is the general concensus on safe zones? Do you agree or disagree with the concept? Also - taxing within a safe zone. I see taxing active players as a form of hostility, thus breaking the basic philosophy of a safe zone. Do you agree with a safe zone where taxing is allowed? Seems counter-intuitive to me.
Your thoughts? Sarcasm greatly appreciated.

Safezones are great... For capping loot

A decision that should be made by the enforcer/founder of said safe zones. I there's no one to enforce the rules for the safe zone then there's no point in having it.

Taxing players is a form of hostility ? You tax someone to make extra cash. If the other person dose'nt like it, then they can ask you to move, or you can move yourself. I also thought taxing in a safe zone was apart of it.

But taxing in a zone where capping is not allowed can be used as a form of hostility - would you really keep a turf somewhere that you are making less then optimum, or even negative income? No. So, it can be used as a form of hostility - drive someone out because they are hemoraging money. Or force them to act out of frustration, and start capping turf.
Both of which ruin the idea of a SAFE zone.

Lol, screw that. Loots always fair game.

Philadelphia was once a safe zone....

I feel if a SZ is made. Someone should be able to enforce it. I see ur message that an 11k guy said no cap'n. and if u cap u will be wiped out.
My feelings are if no one can enforce the zone when someone larger comes in they should be able to change the rules -
@johnny. Were you getting taxed in a safe zone and you capped it? And than the zone "protector" got mad at you?

Not exactly, but i can see how you came to that conclusion. I was not aware i was in a safe zone, msgd the smaller player to remove the turf he built on me and used to tax me (i tried the political route). He privately did a couple 'name drops' of larger players and tried to educate me about safe zones. But he included taxing in the safe zone - which, obviously by now, everyone has learned i dont agree with.@johnny. Were you getting taxed in a safe zone and you capped it? But i have never willingy ventured into a safe zone before (and dont really care to, silly idea really), so i wasnt sure what the accepted practice of taxing in a SF was.

My feelings are if no one can enforce the zone when someone larger comes in they should be able to change the rulesThe Gauls had their 'safe zone', and the Romans came along with their larger 'mob' and took over.
The Romans split in the sixth century or so and lost their long standing safe zone and so on and so on.
I like the idea of SZ's, but nobody could realistically expect one to last forever.

Each Safe Zone has it's rules, for me taxing or being taxed in a safe zone should be fine. Rather than pull down up your influence to match or tax back. But as some have said a safe zone is only as strong as the person enforcing it. I've seen players with less than 5k try to declare a safe zone. It won't work unless they have an alliance behind it. A decent safe zone needs to be able to be blocked so access is limited or slowed while defence is organised.

Safe zones are only as safe as the largest player in them. Winnipeg's Capo may only be 21k. But the largest player who was mentioned is almost 4 times that. Different safe zones have different rules. There used to be one in Toronto that one of the largest player in it went nuts and capped everyone in it and made it a wasteland.

Take it up with the largest player in that safe zone. Nothing a few PMs can't solve.

Please let me know where the safe zones with lots of loot are. I'm really interested in capping, erm, I mean protecting them.
