Hey everyone,
As you may have heard already, MeanFreePath is preparing to launch a new game for iOS, Global Supremacy!Global Supremacy is a new standalone game, which like Turf Wars, is focused on acquiring territories by building and capturing bases. Turf Wars players will find some of the gameplay familiar, but there will be some pretty major differences.

- turf are square. This is literally the only thing we changed. Just kidding.
- real territories: We've imported geographical data for the US, UK, Canada, and Australia into our database, so you'll be able to see the territories turn your color as you take them over! Since that data is now managed by us, we've been able to make dealing with territories a much richer experience.
- no code punching: "Agents" are derived from upgrades on your bases. There are invite codes that give you a bonus if someone uses them, but no "mob" in the sense of Turf Wars.
- "Syndicates" will be more like alliances: they'll exist as long as they want to, and will be able to hold more members. There will be a vendetta-like feature added to them in a future release.

Here are some answers to some frequently-asked questions:
- When will it go live? Global Supremacy is expected to go live in early summer. You may see some marketing for Global Supremacy in Turf Wars after it launches, but after that the games will largely be run separately.
- What will happen to Turf Wars? Turf Wars will continue to be updated and maintained for the foreseeable future. It is not getting shut down, and there are no plans to do this any time this year or in 2014. I've been working on Turf Wars for 4 years and have a lot invested in it – and I won't let our users down by pulling the plug without any notice.
Some players will prefer Global Supremacy to Turf Wars, and vice-versa – they are very different games. If Global Supremacy does well then there may be a halo effect for Turf Wars.

- Why didn't you just update Turf Wars instead? Players have spent a lot of time building their empires under the current gameplay rules, and making drastic changes to gameplay can render that effort pointless. While big new features are always exciting, they must try to improve things for everyone, and as a game ages it gets harder to do this without pulling the rug out for some players. We intend to continue updating Turf Wars to improve usability and reduce confirmed exploits for the foreseeable future.

So the global supremacy goes live in the early summer meaning probably June-July. My question is, when it releases, will the game be available as a beta or finished product? And if it is a beta like dreamsmasher mentioned, how do we get into the beta if there is one.

- have an iOS device running iOS 6.0+
- have good writing competence: if you run into an issue, how well you can describe it makes a huge difference

Thanks for responding to our concerns.
My question is this. I stick a small bit of money into TW. I'd like to keep playing TW and play the new game in any extra spare time. What level can I compete on as a none paying player in global supremacy? I know you need to make money or each game and most of us understand that but I'm not going to stick a lot money into two of your games 😜 -

What about maps of the rest of Europe?
Will it be released everywhere at the same time to avoid other players having a head start?No code punching... I'm good at that!

👆 I don't think Nick would give us only 2-3 more years to play, I think it would stay on as long as people play it.

I wish you all the success on the new venture and hope players on here enjoy the game,I for one won't be downloading the game....my reasons,I've spent so much time,money and effort on this game to bring another into my life. I'm guessing spending cash will play a part in the game and my balance just won't stretch that far,I'm wondering if TW just ain't bringing the cash in anymore/not enough anyway. TW has it's boring elements and I like alot of others have stale moments but this is my gaming home...just my 2p's worth

I am soooooo gonna slash the tires on the Ferrari .... Seriously, great news Nick. The only question I have is why focus on only iOS? Do real phones scare ya? Us droid users could use a fix too, playing something "like" TW on a screen like the Note 2 (awesome friggin phone btw) would be a much richer experience than most of the fodder in the Google store. You'd find a very willing following over there as well, you have a bunch of us that know the quality of the game you have given us so far and could drag more people in through positive reviews and word of mouth.

I think it's worth checking out. At least give nick the benefit of the doubt. If Turf Wars is such a rich experience I imagine another endeavor will be as well.
