As many of you have found out, there is a bug in the turf exclusion check on the Map, which will prevent you from building turf adjacent to other turf in some cases. This bug affects every currently-available version of Turf Wars, and everyone is affected equally. Unfortunately, the fix requires a new release to be approved by Apple.
This graphic illustrates what's going on:
The actual place you can't build turf is the yellow and orange zones on the graphic (without the bug, it would just be the orange zone). The best way for visualizing the actual exclusion zone on the Map is a square that tightly fits over the red exclusion circle for a turf – you can build anywhere outside this square.I've personally been in contact with Apple trying to get an expedited review for the fixed version, so with luck they can approve the app this weekend, though it can't be guaranteed.

Obviously the timing for this issue couldn't be worse, and we are deeply sorry for this problem – we messed up and want to make it up to you. As a result, anyone who's played Turf Wars since 24 hours before the release (May 2, 13:00 GMT) up to now (May 4 00:00 GMT) will get the greater of 25 Respect Points or 10% of their total Respect Point purchases during that period. All affected players will receive a notification when the bonus is granted.
We work hard to make Turf Wars a fun experience for everyone, and we're truly sorry for the inconvenience this has caused you. Thank you for playing and supporting Turf Wars.
