iPhone error 1013?? Help

My sons iPhone 3GS has been practically dead since he tried to upgrade it to ios 6. It's not jail broken so that's not the reason. It was showing different error codes and I repaired it sort of by dfu restoring it but now even that won't work and it's saying error 1013 or -1 any ideas please people

In my experience, when an error prevents the iDevice from functioning, it is 99.9% of the time a physical problem. For example, when my old iPod's camera broke, an error message caused the entire device to crash when I tried to use the FaceTime camera. Take it to your nearest Apple store to have it examined. I believe it is free.

3GS was never meant for iOS 6. I don't care how Apple hacked up the OS to run on those devices. You lose the best functionality due to hardware limitations.

Take a sledge hammer and put the iPhone on a table and smack it problem solved

The problem is caused by an entry in your hosts file. Open it up with a text editor and remove any entries that include "gs.apple.com". Then, reboot.

If your due for a upgrade which you most likely are. It's time to upgrade to the one of the newer models

I did try this but it wouldn't allow me to save it with the gs apple deleted
