Well, crap. I need a little bit of help from anyone Jo has been or is currently in the Air Force. I have been thinking about going to my local recruiting station here and town and applying(that's if they are ever there or answer there phone). Is it worth it? Should I go into the marines, army, coast guard?(they all have what I'm looking for) however everyone I know is telling me that if I do apply, go Air Force. Any help on this is appreciated.

Every branch has their ups and downs. Do ur research and find out which branch is best for YOU, not asking which branch others want u to join. Anyone in the service is bias towards their own branch, recruiters especially. Talk to those who have been in for awhile and do some research on jobs and quality of living in each branch.

As a former Marine, I can tell you that we were a little jealous of the Air Force.

My father went into the Air Force. There are some positives and negatives. You get to travel a lot of places but the tests are harder so its hard to get ranked. It was fun for meWell, crap. I was going I go Air Force to be a pilot, but I'm a little on the tall side to be a jet jock (and for God's sake I'm not going to get stuck flying transport). So I decided to do Army in stead. Currently in ROTC (which is another good route to take) to become an apache pilot.

Air Force, they have the best living standards, when pilots have to stay on an army base they are paid more for "inadequate living conditions"

I'd say Marines. I can't fly and I'd never want too

I did 4 years in the AF and I'll just say if you're not doing shit else you might as well do it. Just know that the US military in this current time works to ensure the prophits of military contractors and to secure oil reserves for multi national oil companies.

Benefits of the air force are the higher quality of living and higher tech jobs which mean better paying job when you get out. For the army, you get a contract for the job you want before you join...the only service that does that. The marines, you get to say ooooh-rah the rest of your life and you get to be a former marine instead of ex-military or a vet. All i can think of is bad jokes for the Navy....so I will refrain from commenting.
If you can't tell, I did this post mostly to bust on the marines. Hehehe. One person said it best above....you will have to figure it out for yourself because each service has its perks and YOU will have to live with the choices you make.
