I am puzzled as to how the server can not recognize that the input was made by a human in the first place without having to use a captcha...you can make it transparent for the enduser.
You can use for example the functions that check for orientation and movement/acceleration (don t remember the exact name as I havent made an app for weeks). If a human is holding the phone there are bound to get variations in movement/acceleration these so just add that as a bridge between the keyboard input and the actual data send.
Another way would be to require to shake the phone instead of having to enter a type. Also are the scripts coming from pcs or from JB'ed devices?
There are many ways you can make sure that a real human is submitting codes but it all depends on how your backend handles the requests. Does it do a hardware check, is it one or two ways. I suspect the issue is because of how you accept the codes in the first place. Just don t manage for the exception

Checking for movememt is inspired but again easy to fake. (set the jailbroken iPhone on something that moves a bit)I am puzzled as to how the server can not recognize that the input was made by a human in the first place without having to use a captcha...you can make it transparent for the enduser.

I hope Nick takes notice and does something positive for the true players

I've yet to see this feature at all

Also you have to take in consideration that some people use bluetooth keyboards.

Plus wouldn't help since my iPad sits in a dock and I just have the keyboard in my lap.
Btw, nick, if you read this, the popup obstructs the entry field and the human check text when you have an external keyboard...looks fine when you are entering from the onscreen keypad. You need to probably handle the UIKeyboardWillHideNotification if that helps.
