There was an error in the announcement code that caused this - it's fixed now if you fully close Turf Wars and reopen.

Yeah I can't find the announcement button, and now I can't get a location it says ERROR: unable to fetch your location.

The 2.34 announcement will disappear if you're running version 2.34, since you've already updated. Here's what was changed:

This release fixes several bugs, including a possible crash when switching screens, and
resolves the checkin issues that some players experienced.
