Thanks guys - I think maybe I need to factor in some leg work outs a week ... Could either do some hills or weigh myself down with some ankle weights (both sound horrific)
I imagine it doesn't help I'm lugging a big old belly around with me. I could defo do with losing about 15lbs - I imagine carrying the gut has to work the legs hard than they would wanna be

Hey mate.. All I can say is good luck. I don't have any advice though, sorry 😝

Hi guys - just a quick note.
Been doing some incline walking on the treadmill and making sure I do my stretches and the legs are holding up much better. Up to about 4 miles now, still pretty slow in time but the legs are much better. So now I just need to crack on and being the times down

Although doing crack will prob help you reduce times, it will not improve your health over time 😉

I ride bikes easy on the legs yet burn about the same

Mountain biking cures that one bro ! Otherwise I agree running is good but not lame ass running ..... Getting urself to a good pace... Pushing it hard

Tips:
-Don't run every day, try every second day to allow a recovery day
-caffeine is a diaretic which basically means it makes you shit, it is okay to drink one coffee before exercise as it gives you an energy buzz but no more
-don't eat big meals in the hour before exercise as it will divert some of your energy from your muscles to your digestion
-try running at different intensitys (sprint every 200m for a bit then then etc)
Good luck👍 -
I use to love jogging. Runners high was nice. What kept me going was the Nike id chip in my shoes that would track how fast and how far i would run. I would upload the info to the free nike web site via my iphone. I would set goals and earn virtual trophies. Seems corny but it was fun and kept me motivated.

Yikes do not do ankle weights! That's just begging for injury! I run 3-4 times a week as conditioning for my training. My recommendations:
*Get a heart rate monitor. Ppl seriously overdo it in the beginning especially. Personally I love adidas micoach, that's what I use to make sure I'm hitting the right intervals.
*Interval training in general. Heart boost, stamina boost, you'll probably also be better in the sack as a result. Less said about that, the better lol
*Get the couch to 5k app at iTunes store. Awesome way to ramp you up without overdoing. It takes about six months to get your heart conditioning up to speed. Don't hurt yourself in the process.Hills are way better than weights any day. Good luck to you!

Just learn to jump over the cars and you'll be set. I personally don't run because I'm 270 lbs and it makes my shins hurt 😫sallymonster wrote:

Boring? What? Not sure if joking or just stupid. Bikes are sure as hell not boring, and they can be a challenge if you want them to be, sprint with them and go up very stip slopes and you'll see a challenge... Bikes gave me the best work outs. Plus you do much more miles in them so you can also do a nice spin around the entire town💻ӈɑͭcͪĸͤєя💻 wrote:

Road biking is boring bro , get over it

Hey I just read your first posts. But I would say mix small sprints into your jog. Nothing extreme.

I like biking myself. Cover more territory, see more boobies, see more landscape, go faster ... find more ( .Y. ). All the runners I know have joint pain, but running and biking use different muscle groups. Each to his own.

I work out 2 days a week since my Gastric Bypass surgery. I now jog on the treadmill sometimes 1 mile sometimes 2 miles if I have time. But the MAIN thing I do is make sure I have protien before I work out. Atleast 25 grams and always a shake not a bar. Protien will help keep your muscles in check.

I seriously cant exercise unless i am forced to, be it gym class or something else. Now by exercise i mainly mean workouts, like for example i like biking or weightlifting. But i dont get how people get pleasure out of running.
Running is the bane of my existence. It gives me no happiness whatsoever. All it does is make my day shittier and makes me miserable. And i hope i am not coming across as some lazy fatass, because im not. I just cant run.
