My grandfather fought in WW2 and got a Japanese gun. I don't know what kind. The gun still has the flower on it. It's not in bad condition but its not in the greates condition eaither. How much would this be worth?
-
It all depends on the condition. Does it still work?

I will give you 10 flowers and a car bomb sight unseen
-
Is it a rifle or handgun. That will alter the price.

Let me call a buddy of mine who is an expert in this. Hell tell you everything you need to know including how much it's worth.

I hope you think Long and hard about selling that if your grandpa got it in a war. Money comes and goes but some things can't be made as easily... That being said I am interested in what kind of gun it is

Thanks for the site. I think it's a Type 99http://www.militaryfactory.com/smallarms/ww2-japanese-guns.asp this site can help identify which it is.

Type 99's are very common. Condition is everything. Low end $250, high end $500. Take it to a reputable gun shop and ask them to appraise it for insuance purposes. That is generally the price they would sell it for in their store.

Normally when you say "in between" you mention 2 numbers. Or is that just me?ཞօʝօ2017 wrote:

Pawn stars:)

The US soldiers when leaving Japan all got swords and guns to bring home, because they are so common in the US now I believe the value is quite low.
I heard about the swords in particular on some crappy show last week. -
If it has all the original markings like you say it can be rare because jap soldiers would scratch it out if they were going to be killed or captured as to not dishonor their emporer

Pass it down to all the males as a sign of respect or right of passage you know something like that..you know
If you have a girl give it to her when she gets around that age....you'll know the age.
