What is "strategy"????
Forums › General Discussion › What is "strategy"????-
I've heard many people talk about strategies and ways to win. I don't get it.
Is "strategy" repeatedly pressing the capture button multiple times? Is strategy" called two hours on mob code?
Is strategy" buying 1k henchmen?
Is strategy" a maneuver, the gasface tactic or something?
Please explain. -
Strategy is how much time you spend on this game. Nothing more
-
After being in some wars with belial, Bella, charlie, kk25, flat face and others, there is tons of strategy involved in keeping a player corralled and keeping them occupying a particular area. I just go along for the ride
-
But to give a couple of examples. Certain turf placement would be strategies also using the influemce rule and cap lit rules to your advantage. Because of this ges simplicity it offers more strategies than most games

Although nick, if you have a group of big spenders, then they are almost impossible to beat
-
I do not think nick meant that u only need to spend real $$$ but it's a fact that a long time player or one who has spent $$$ don't necessarily run a city per se. Strategy involves getting along with neighbors plus what wars have gone on all over the world in various cities. Obviously, more real $$ spent gives one a better advantage in being among the top mobster/s list in a city (or two) And ppl who put in alot of money in here are doing it at their own expense and supporting the game but if that's not for u, quit crying like a baby and be graceful/tolerant as others are toward u.

What's funny about you English is I've offered help I've spent time making good strategies that would of worked and I scrap th because all I hear is they're are too strong or they have too many players. The problem isn't how much money your enemies have spent it's the lack of determination in you guys. Amd no offense but that's what I've found.

There are strategies. Spending money can insure things and make wars alot harder ie if somone has a turf limit of 1000 you better be Sun Tzu If you want to WIN, however there are still plenty of tactics you can imploy to give them a hard time.

Not posting a lot of crap on the forums and laying low till you can actually fight back is an example of a good stategy.

It's unfortunate that you think this. There's an aspect if the fame that you don't see. I'm privy to a lot if intense discussions on strategy. I've gotta agree with Nick & belial on this. I haven't spent that much (because I don't have the means to spend frivolously very often) & I'd say I've done fairly well for myself (if I do say so, myself).
To answer the OP, there are tons of strategies. I have at least 5 strategies for gaining mob alone. Not to mention the turf placement type ones, tons of vendetta strategies, using vendettas to your advantage, how to use them to your opponent's disadvantage, etc. And as Nick said, a big part of it is also playing the social aspect. By that I mostly mean knowing how to choose your battles & knowing when to play nice. Some people take this as knowing how to exercise their manipulation and deception muscles, but I've very rarely had to bust out those "strategies".

Interesting thread. I wonder if people who originally posted on this still feel the same way?
