So I begin learning how to try and code. It's all very basic at the moment. I started with python but moved on over to JavaScript. My question is to all you coders out there, which do you like more?

If you're new to programming, use Java. It's one of the most difficult to learn, but Oracle has great tutorials on their site.

It's also an opinion matter, and loyalties.

Depends. Server side or client side? They both have strengths in their separate roles. Your question seems to imply they're interchangeable like Pascal and Fortran were.So I begin learning how to try and code. It's all very basic at the moment. Both are good at their most common applications - knowing both is a big plus!
Python is very versatile, and can be used for all kinds of applications, mostly server-side. It's a great workhorse for processing data and interacting with APIs etc.
JavaScript is great for adding functionality to web pages, and can be used to create some pretty awesome stuff - the newer HTML5 features (like canvas) let you create some really cool effects and animations with JavaScript.
It all boils down to what interests you the most and what projects you're going to take on. If you're teaching yourself, think of a fun project that interests you and build it. You'll learn a lot and have fun while you're doing it!
