Where should I go

I currently live in Minnesota, and I will be finishing college in a year. I want to move out of Minnesota. I want to stay in the US mainland. I don't like big cities. I want a place that will be safe for my future family
Any one have any suggestions on where I should go?

In my experience people who don't have a reason to move somewhere and that move just because they want to move away usually just end up going back home.

If you are in IT field, come to Northern Virginia. Well paying jobs, great standard of living, good schools

Well that depends how far from Minnesota do you want to go? Iowa is close but its very rural and safe.

Texas is always an awesome place to be. Good jobs, low cost of living, open areas around Dallas. You can find just about any type of job here that you want to do.

What are you looking for? Cheap cost of living, great social scene, lots of outdoor activities (if so what kind). Give us more details about what you enjoy. There are to many safe non big cities to list. Any idea how large of a community you want to live in? A 2 stop light type town or a small city of 80,000?
