A sad day
Forums › General Discussion › A sad day-
Today in my hometown of Santa Cruz two police officers were killed today. They were investigating a home when the suspect opened fire killing the two officers. It's the first time that a police officer was killed here and two in one day is extremely tragic. May they rest in peace. 🙏
-
That's a disaster. May those cops rest in peace and not become more fuel to the gun debate 🙏
-
Rest in Peace

Why is it that everyone tears up about a couple dead cops, yet nobody gives a shit about the hundreds of innocent people murdered and maimed by cops in cold blood? Isn't it suspicious that the universal excuse for most cop killings is that they "feared for their life" or saw them reach for a nonexistent gun? Think about it before you start to all scream at me.

Thank you for posting. Sgt Baker was a player named Two Dogs. He had retired from the game but was a long time player since the early days.

There's always accidents. No matter what country what state what neighborhood. It's tragic when there are innocent blood spilt. But when the murderers and rapest and bugulars come a knocking, whos going to save your ass?
The cops. -
My condolences to both of those brave officers and their families. They gave the most precious thing of all to protect the people they served. Bless them and all who serve the us.

Your concealed gun is what saves your life, not cops that come to write a report about the crime scene containing your dead body.

Having said that, still is a sad day

Your concealed weapon may save your life but will your weapon save an old man in a different state from being mugged? Or a 15 yr old girl from being raped? Bad things happen, and your concealed weapon isnt going to stop them all of them, just yourself. It's the officers job to help those that can't help themselves.

Old men can and do carry guns. A gun is the best equalizer known to men in this day. And 15 y/o is still her parent responsibility and trust me, a parent will protect his/her 15 y/o more vigorously than a stranger who often aren't require to (and don't) risk their lives to protect innocent. I salute all the cops out there protecting and serving but you gotta admit there are a lot of those who have forgotten their main mission - to serve and protect the public.
-
Anyway, the point I am trying to make is that everyone is responsible for themselves and everyone should have a chance to protect themselves adequately. If you'd like to rely on police for your protection - be my guest, but if you want to be in control of your safety, you should be able to do that.

I completely agree with you my point was just there are people who cannot protect themselves.

It's a shame that a few other posters chose to highjack this thread. This thread was intended to honor officers (including an old school tw legend) that fell in the line of duty. Your opinions about police and gun laws are not relevant nor appropriate in this context. Next time, read the damn title, and think before you post.
