3 teanagers were struck by a train right by my house at 6am this morn. 2 boys died, the girl is alive. My kids thank god are all at home. Now hoping it was none of their friends

Why would they just leave a car on the tracks? Why not bail out of the car. I don't get how people die from trains when it gives a clear warning

No car involved at all. Train tracks are in a........"valley", "channel" and go under the road.

I lost a couple of friends in high school when they tried to race a train... my heart goes out to those kids.

People often get hit in tunnels and cuts "v" when they try to use them as a shortcut. Those places are just wide enough for the trains, folks. Don't be tempted. Even if it looks like a safe area to one side, having a large train moving beside you is disorienting. Makes you dizzy.

If you get caught between two parallel tracks with trains moving opposite directions, SIT DOWN and wait for them to pass. Try to remain standing and you are almost certain to fall over.

Why the would they be doing shit by a train while it's coming? Was there car stuck on the rails, or were they just dumshits playing on the tracks?

I work on a neonatal/pediatric critical care transport team and you would be amazed at the things that happen everyday to kids around you that never even make the news. Teenagers in particular have a "sense of invincibility" and often test it in the most frightening ways. This is sad news, but I am glad your children are ok. I have five kids myself and the things I see at my job really scare the hell out of me sometimes.
