I've been watching anime for say while now to put something in my time,you besides doing nothing,anyway why don't you leave a list of some good anime to watch?Arigato!
Here's what I've seen:
Sora no otoshimono
Angel beats
Sword art online
Accel world
Baka and test
Durarara
Sekirei
Dakura...(some anime with a red haired girl as grim reaper)
Anyway lets spread some anime around!

You could always try Magi, Psychopass, Zetsuen no Tempest, .hack//Quantum, Bible Black, Mutek Kanban, Yozakura Quartet, Btooom!, Suzumiya Haruhi no Shiushitsu, Girls Bravo...

Countless others I've not the time or ability to find the names if right now :P

Boku wa tomodachi ga sukunai is ok, I really like all .hack (if you like sao you'll love .hack) Highschool of the Dead, Soul Eater, Deadman Wonderland (fuckin' amazing anime and manga), GiTS, Eureka 7, Full Metal Alchemist, and plenty more.. Something's just so good about perfect action animation and it's hard to not get addicted to watching it once you start.

I'm not so sure the current Naruto is a "kid show" but obviously the beginning was a bit kiddie but now it gets pretty awesome

No, it always was. I grew up on that shit and there are so many better anime series out there, you're better off finding some decent 12 shots. And seriously, if you're a fan of naruto, watch Deadman Wonderland and Highschool of the Dead. They're much better and HOTD is definitely easy on the eyes.
