iPhone speaker issues??

So just now my speaker went out... No music, no clicking while tying this, no YouTube... So now I might have to buy a new speaker lol. Has any of this happened to you guys before?? I've never heard of a speaker going out on an iPhone..
-
How does that happen?
-
I have no idea haha I might take it into the apple store to see what they think

It happened on my iPhone 5 about a month after I bought it. I had to buy an external speaker to plug into the headphone jack for YouTube and whatknot, but the speakerphone option is now totally worthless. Let me know if you find a solution!!

Maybe ur volume is all the way down.😂

Found speakers on a website that I've bought back glass from and I can get a replaceable speaker for around 10 bucks... If you have had it for less than a year take it to the apple store because it is still under warranty, they are pretty good about standing behind their products.

Please keep me informed, if there is an easy replacement, I'm totally down for it. Not looking forward to spending 300 on a new phone😕༺☣ℳཞ71ᏤཡℬüᎦ☣༻ wrote:

I did not try to blow into it... Instead it just started sounding fuzzy and then it kicked on... Works now lol

My son got saliva on mine he's only 1 year old and now one speaker doesn't work the other sounds bad.
-
My 4s sounds like it has water in the speakers some times. But then it just goes away.

Try turning the volume on

It's not difficult to replace yourself. Check a guide on ifixit. There are different steps depending on which model you own; 4 (gsm or CDMA), 4s, whatever. Although the screws may seem identical, many are not. You need to keep exact track of where they came from and disassemble/assemble in the exact order as the guide. Some screws are important as contacts and you can damage the phone using the wrong screw. You will need a very small Philips and possibly a star shaped for the charging port.

I used my to gently blow and suck the speaker to get it moving. Sometimes it just stick.

This. And get some extra 3M adhesive (comes in phone shaped sheets) that they use to stick things down with. It's the best thing I've used yet. Otherwise, if you need another repair later you'll be fighting the glue. It's not difficult to replace yourself. Check a guide on ifixit. Just go to the apple store, tell them what happened and watch them do their magic. If its under a year old and doesn't have water damage, I would bet anything you want to bet you'll walk out with a new phone.
