Rogue Cop

This may be the scariest and wildest news story of the year, and the most tragic. Chris Dorner, a former Navy Reserves Lieutenant, was a patrol officer with LAPD for about four years, 2005-2009. During that time he had a few issues but the one that ended up resulting in his termination was when he reported a fellow officer for using excessive force. Dorner reported this female training officer kicked a suspect in the face and head - the Internal Affairs investigation cleared the female officer and Dorner ended up terminated for "false reporting".
Dorner alleges that LAPD canned him for breaking the "blue line" and outing a fellow officer. He posted a "manifesto" onto his Facebook account saying, basically, his name was tarnished and that was all he had, so now he is going to kill all involved in tarnishing his name. He also sent a package to cnn's Anderson Cooper which included a video of his deposition "proving" he was correct about the other officer usin excessive force. (cont...)
-
He then murdered the daughter of the LAPD captain who represented him during his internal affairs investigation, as well as her fiancé. Then, he rolled up on two Riverside, CA officers in their patrol car at a traffic light and shot both of them, killing one and critically injuring the other.
His manifesto was posted online and it includes that he will bring assymetrical warfare against LAPD and the families of the officers who wronged him. He also considered himself "already dead" and is thus incredibly dangerous as he is not afraid of getting caught or killed.
Dorner is currently at large. Earlier today he set his truck on fire about 60 miles east of Los Angeles. That's the last thing that's been reported about his location.
-
LAPD has temporarily suspended all motorcycle units. They have ordered two patrol vehicles to respond to all calls in case of an ambush and have ordered all units to be two-man cars.
Hopefully they find this sick murdering fuck before he kills again.
-
Last night, in Corona, CA (just east I Los Angeles), two LAPD officers were on a special detail checking on the welfare of one of the folks named in Dorner's manifesto. They encountered Dorner and Dorner opened fire on them, grazing one of them.

Here is the slimmed down version of Dorner's manifesto:

Did you read that LAPD and another force shot 3 innocent people today who were driving similar pickup trucks? 2 were Asian women delivering newspapers, both of whom were shot in the back by LAPD in a hail of bullets in their truck. The other was a white guy also in a pickup truck.
-
Was curious what was going on, some friends I have in Cali posted very short things on Facebook/twitter and I was to busy in games to look into it, thanks for the update and hopefully he goes down soon.

At one point, officers guarding one location mistakenly opened fire on a pickup truck, believing it matched the description of Dorner's dark-colored 2005 Nissan Titan. Two occupants were injured.

Can't believe I haven't heard about this. This is some sick, twisted shit. Hope they catch the man before he hurts more

Maybe he was right. LAPD isn't exactly known for using appropriate force. As evidenced by their opening fire on "similar looking" trucks and shooting innocent small asian women in the back. I don't think they should have fired him for that, anyways. At most they might have said he was wrong and it wasn't excessive force. But fire the guy over that? Sounds fishy.
Before you folks start bitching at me for offering a different view, I do hope that guy is brought down swiftly and peacefully with no more lost lives. Killing is not the answer, but that doesn't mean the LAPD was and is justified in its actions.

After alot of reading I agree with you alot of the story's and things seem very fishy, this guy could be correct in his claims, but like you said he is taking a drastic irrational attempt to fix it. I agree with the above 2 posters.
Something does smell about this, but violence, let alone killing, is never ever an answer to anything. So i hooe they catch this guy first before more innocent people get hurt over this

Thanks for the thread Khal I saw your comment in the late night thread.
Yes what 415 said is true officers fired on two women delivering newspapers at 5:00 am. They were in the area where one of the targets listed on Dorns manifesto lives.
The people listed on his manifesto are under heavy guard. I am in no way condoning what happened however people should understand these officers are majorly on edge. He has declared war on them. Pretty scary shit. It's horrible all around and hopefully they catch him before he kills anyone else. -
I read dudes manifesto online. He's pissed by about excessive use of force and racism then goes on to say he's going to target female, Chinese, and lesbian cops.

Haha I know - he's crazy as shit. The injustice he has suffered as a result of his treatment by the LAPD, even assuming his raving diatribe is true, goes right out the window when he starts killing innocent people.I read dudes manifesto online. I don't like being the one to defend a crazy man running around killing people because we definitely cant have everyone killing people because they feel wronged but I mean I had never heard of his story until he started killing cops so that means to me, if he is right and these are dirty cops, then his first attempt to bring justice ended with him getting fired and everyone calling him a liar so if he is that dedicated then killing them would be one of the only options left or he could be nuts and just killing people. But like his online manifesto he'll be dead before his name ever gets cleared cause I don't know a cop anywhere that wouldn't shoot him on site after this. Of course most crazy people don't put manifestos online before they start killing people they just start shooting so I don't know but it makes me wonder and ill be damned if we don't see a movie about it all in the next few months

Does anyone else wish California would just break off at the San Andreas fault and go away?
-
Maybe the LA PD recognized this guy was crazy and used the internal affairs thing to get rid of him. If so, they obviously were correct.
