iPhone music player bug?

My music player just decides to stop working at times, it's still playing but the volume slide icon disappears and no sound comes out. It seems random and only been happening the last few days. I was on iOS6 and updated yesterday to 6.1 but it still happens.
Anyone know what's up with this?

my volume slide disappears when its plugged into a stereo. see if the port is dirty and making a bad connection. ive had this happen with different phones thinking they were plugged in.

Oh yeah that makes sense, might be crap in the port and thinks its plugged in to a speaker. Thanks. I'll try and clean it out.

Mine has started (I know how weird this sounds) skipping. Like a record player. And delaying forEVER between songs. Annoying! I'm going to try all of that 👆 but other ideas would be nice. ;)

Mines been a bit dicky recently. It did an annoying pause thing the other day, had to close it to make it work.

Denon has a free music player ap. Try using that to find out if it is a problem with the native music player or physical hardware problem. It also happens to have an equalizer that is far superior to the preset crap options you get with the regular player.

I had that issue and took it to apple. They said it was a faulty connector in the headphone jack. They gave me a new phone. Other tha that try connecting the headphones over and over until it registers as headphones disconnected. That works but takes time
