This is a national tragity.

Anyone else find it awfully suspect the amount and verity of incidents.

I just found out that Eddie Routh, the shooter, tried to assault the jailers in lockup. Supposedly, they had to taser him to get him under control.
-
He's in Erath Countly Jail, Stephenville, Texas. I have some buddies from college who work there.

I agree. He is apparently suffering from PTSD. My wife deals with a lot of military that comes home and from what I can tell, a lot of these soldiers are just thrown back into civilian life without proper care. Not being military myself, I could be way off on this. Please correct me if my view is inaccurate. It's not meant to offend, just my view from what my wife deals with.vishbume wrote:

Actually was 160 confirmed but suspected to be about a hundred more than that.Wow...255 confirmed kills. This is terrible. I just learned about him this summer on the tv show "Stars Earn Stripes." When I saw this thread I thought that this couldn't be true. RIP 🇺🇸
A true legend. May he rest in peace 🙏

Sorry wrong place wrong time.😅
I was deeply saddened bay this news as, though i haven't seen or read American Sniper, I also know him as a patriotic man also putting a lot of his free time into charity. We always need more people like him, which makes it that much worse when they're gone, especially when he was always the best of the best.
RIP -
the wife and i just watched the movie a few days ago and read some stories online. it is really sad how something like that happens but he's a legend and nothing will take away his contributions or his service to this country. his story has touched lives and will continue to do so, in a way he is immortalized even more so. we had never heard of him before this tragic event and i'm sure many had not, so even with his death he continues to touch lives.

One of the ladies I work with has a husband who is a SWAT sniper in Fort Worth. He did some training with him for a weekend and he said that he was a very humble guy. Always deflected any kind of "legendary" status to his team.
He said that so many people get caught up in his number of kills but sometimes forget about the number of lives that were saved because of him, his team, and everyone doing their jobs. By being efficient a great deal of soldiers were allowed to return home.
If anyone gets the chance, take a moment to watch the interview between Conan O'Brian(sp) and Chris on YouTube. It gives some insight to the kind of guy he was.
-
i think that was brought out in the movie. we could tell that he was humble and didn't like the praise. i also read online about people who disagreed with his hero status and called him a murdering coward, and talked about how snipers sit back in safer areas and shoot people in the back. we know they fail to see the necessary and essential role of snipers, how many lives they save and give other soldiers opportunities to do their jobs where they might have otherwise failed because of enemy activities.
-
i like that you could also tell the weight that was carried in taking a life, especially when it was around kids and even when it was to save lives, was not an easy one to carry.

Micheal Moore and Seth rogen should be tatted and feathered.

Of course there going to find him guilty! Could you imagine if they didn't convict him and let him go.. That would be one big problem for our government with all the patriots watching every detail about this coward. He would have been dead before he could hit his doorstep. I hope kyle haunts this coward the rest of his days on earth! Still pissed they didn't give him the death penalty but I guess it might be better to keep him alive and make him suffer with his thoughts and let him rott in prision! Coward
