Thinking back: How did you find Turf Wars and why did you stay?

I wanted to name this "Thinking back: How did you find Turf Wars and what kept you here in the beginning?" but there wasn't enough title characters limit.
Anyway, like stated by the title, how did you find Turf Wars an why did you stay in the beginning?
For me, I found it when I used to play iMobster. I was playing and for the second time, I found a comment on a random person's wall saying that Turf Wars was way better than Imobsters and I finally decided to try it out. I soon found planting turf and the game's basic ways to play it were simple and fun to spend time doing in my free time. I have since been here and indefinitely reseted my iMobsters account and related Storm8 accounts.
I'm here to this day and I am curious to hear other mobster's accounts of how they found TW and why they stayed here.

Via iTunes genius. Id been playing final fantasy xi for a long time and the simplicity of this game appealed to me.
When I thought I'd run out of things to do, the community kept me hanging around and now I'm back doing my own thing all over again.

My a couple of my friends played regularly and suggested I play. They never got too big though and retired early. One friend suggested I check out the forums and I became hooked. And that marked the beginning of my royal cactusy reign.

I saw it as a "people also bought" on the App Store and I got it... It was during the phase I went through when I played lots of farming/money wasting games. I'm not sure why I kept it when I stopped playing those games, but I considered quitting numerous times. I actually still don't exactly know why in still here

I'm here for the 💃 and the 🍺.

My friends go to a different school and a wave of over 50 mobsters came from there and one day they showed me this amazing game and I was hooked. Now all 50 including my friends are long gone. I got a few people to join but they all quit in a week. I am asked why I still play it and it's because its so addicting.

Ad on Ifunny, I thought it was cool. But now its just because I've spent so much and I don't want to waste that money(Im still spending, so I'll get more and more careful)

i saw tw ad getting points for another game i dont have anymore. now its just fun. im not addicted though, i can stop any time i want. really.

I needed a game that replaced mafia wars. I made half a billion an hour and 10 trillion dollars lvl 294 and got bored. I searched through I tunes "turf" and this game popped up. 2 years later here I am.

You just wait until I get my submarine, courtesy of Nick. Then I'll invade your island and take it over. 😝

I saw the trailer to Turf Wars during The Dark Knight Rises, and of course remember the tabloids covering the big UK wars of '10 and the many relationships that came and went. But what finally got me
to D/L the app, was (and this is embarrassing), watching Real Housewives of Turf Wars on Bravo - seeing Saelo, Queen Nicole, Mystery, Raikou, Bella, and Miss Piazza drinking wine, eating cheese, gossiping about other players, and occasionally becoming drunk and catty - that's what got me hooked. -
I was scrolling through the strategy section of the iTunes game category when I came across this game. The title was intriguing and I read the description of the game. The idea of using the world as your playground was just one of the coolest ideas I had heard of! I met some of the coolest people ever playing this game including kavinaugh and ✯МяΛиоиγмоυs✯. I went inactive for a few months because a lot of my old friends quit and I just felt lonely. But I decided to come back because ever since I found out my friend iceyman still played and that there was some conflicts going on in my neighborhood. It's great to be back! 😼

Searched "war" being a kid and all, "turf wars" came up. Played July 2011. Then went inactive 11 months and came back to reset. Started again and still here because its fun and kids like fun.
-
Downloaded it to get free points for iMobster, tried it out and liked it. The gameplay itself is fun but it's the social aspects that keep me playing.

I was lying on a hospital bed for a few days and found this game on first day. Think it was cause of a commercial. Lost interest after I got out of hospital but somehow found my way back.
Reason I'm still here... well, DoN BizzlE still has upgrades somewhere and I want them. -
To be honest im not quite sure how I stumbled upon this game. I think it was while I used to play Haypi Kingdom and I got bored of it and I went looking for something similar but better. I think I stuck around because I joined in the middle of a Double loot week and I thought it was a monthly thing.

I found while playing modern war and downloaded it and made friends and allies that I just quit modern war to tw

Wife got me hooked and hasn't seen me since

Sitting at the airport, bored and waiting for the Missus. i needed a time killer. I had no idea what I was getting myself into!! Then I met this guy name Unknown Assassin. I took his bargersville capo by mistake and learned my first turf wars lesson.

Found it looking at "gangstar games" stayed because BLACKWALLSTREET and viper <3
-
boyfriend used to play it. he gave up, and laughs at me for still playing, but it's good for downtime

Was looking for a version of an old game called dope wars. Stayed because of the game play... I liked Risk and Civ but those games had shelf lives... and ended after so many turns. This game did not end... Hence I still play. The worst part of any game (to me) is having to start over... And Losing all progress ... The defeating part is most games end when victory is declared... However in most TW circles it is considered taboo to defeat someone to reset ... A pacifist way to think for a war game. So I guess I still play to test my skills, knowing ill never win, in this social experiment of a war game.

My friends tyler, scott, and shawn always talked about it. So i downloaded it 👍
-
A friend used my phone to start an account and get me playing 15 months on and I'm at 41k and still playing and he is 27k and has been inactive for 6 months+
-
My cousins were playing. I stayed because umm I don't know really. I've thought about quitting many times because I don't really have the time to play anymore but I just like to check the forums and do missions. Who knows if and when I hit godfather I might give it up
-
I got it recommended to me by a friend I remember that first night. I remember I had no idea what to do but that was almost a year ago
-
Cracka saw that I had an iPhone and told me to download the game so he can get dp. Nearly a year and a half later...

I got it to play with some buddies of mine. Good times. Then I stayed because people were mad I wouldn't quit, and I couldn't let them win like they always do, eh? Then I found some people I consider friends so it's sort of a mix of that and I still want revenge on a certain someone.
