Airsoft vs. Paintball
Forums › General Discussion › Airsoft vs. Paintball-
I am going to read the responses because I am not really into either although I lean toward paintball because I own the equipment and have played a few times. Lets call it research.. GO!

Airsoft, I'll post one pro:
Cheaper ammo, at courses I pay $10 for 100 shots for paintball and $20 for 5,000 shots for airsoft.
-
Paintball. Sure, it's more expensive, but the rush, the adrenaline, is far greater than that of airsoft. Just my opinion
-
Also, I feel like there are more customization options with paintball guns, gear, etc
-
Is gear similar in expense?

Honestly, I'm not too sure. I haven't dabbled in airsoft much, played only a few games with borrowed gear. And I haven't played paintball in a while. but I remember buying a good mask for around...50-60 dollars? Hoppers are fairly inexpensive, unless you get into electronic hoppers. You don't really need those if you play woodsball or scenario, which I what I've played. Gloves...10-20 bucks roughly. Extra containers for balls are cheap too. That's all the gear I ever really used. What gets expensive is customizing your gunIs gear similar in expense?

Far more customizable in airsoft, you can change anything. Rails, stocks, dozens of different sights, silencers, different grips, flashlights, lasers, different magazines, ect
I own a full metal ICS M4 with a red/ green dot sight. I have it set to shoot 380Feet per second.

Does airsoft have a bite to it when it hits ya like paintball does? Seems you could almost get hurt worse with airsoft..
-
I like paintball because there is nothing like seeing your paintball splat right between the eyes when it hits their mask. When you get hit between the eyes you can actually see the paintball coming at your. Pretty assume slow motion life passing before your eyes time of a moment.

I would have to say paintball we used it as a training exercise once in the military taught the POG's how to keep their heads down and us infantry guys how to burst out laughing at them.

Airsoft.
More realistic of the two sports; the paintball guns do not vary much at all in design. Ever seen an M-16 paintball rifle? Nope! While airsoft companies have created a replica of nearly every firearm out there.
Paintball may hurt worse than airsoft, but airsoft is clearly the more realistic of the two.

Oh? Ever tried mounting a long-range scope on a paintball gun? The hopper is in the way.Вгатvа wrote:

Also, the hopper is gravity-fed, meaning that if you are trying to make an awkward shot around a corner with low ammo, the gun may not even fire!
Most solid-brand airsoft guns require you to wind the magazine every 20 shots or so, and you can make any shot you need to.
Not an opinion, just facts.

I got two high cap mags (need to wined) and 5 30 round clips (no winding) I must say I prefer the 30 round clips.✯ཥ༑ངਸཧཧབ✯ wrote:

Not al hoppers are gravity fed. I've made plenty of tricky shots with an electronic hopper. And yes, a long range scope is quite possible. There are several types of hoppers that aid the use of scopes such as this. How about you not be so cocky when this is a simple helpful conversation.Вгатvа wrote:

Air soft without a doubt!
-
Paintball is good becuase off the rush you get but air soft is pretty cool aswell i quite like both
-
Paintball, I have played air soft and my pet peeve is that you can't see where it hits and the other person can claim it didn't(unless your the dude on the roof with the customized sniper that left a couple welts)

Ok airsoft all the way. First of all airsoft guns are way cheaper. Ammo is cheaper. Everything is less money. Second have u ever seen a good paintab pistol? NO. They require c02 tanks which is a lot of money also paintballs which arent cheap. Also airsoft has every gun out there except for of course huge 50 cal. Also airsoft is more realistic. I dont see any real guns that look like paintball guns. Airsoft all the way

I would like to point out that if you want a good airsoft gun, they are not cheaper than a paintball gun. You can buy a great 400-500fps full auto for $200 when you can buy a good paintball gun from 100 to 175 dollars. Paintall is cheaper at first, but then the ammo costs more, airsoft is more expensive at first but then you don't spend as much on ammunition. Paintball

There's pros and cons for both.
Sounds like the rest is preference. I think I'll choose paintball second to real guns and bullets.
