Logic puzzle.

One of my engineering professors gave me this problem in one of my classes. It took me an hour to solve it. Now I want to share it with y'all
You have 5 jars of pills. 4 jars contain pill A and one jar contains pill B. Pill A weighs 1 gram while pill B weighs .9 grams. How can you find out which jar contains pill B with only one measurement? -
Is it safe to assume that every jar has the same amount of pills?
-

I dunno, Pill B looks different so I can tell them apart?
-
If its full, then each .1 difference should add up and you might be able to tell

I like your threads.
Take 1 pill from jar 1. 2 from jar two etc and weigh them. Then you know how many are 0.9. So know which jar. -

Pills A and B are identical in colour and size etc ... ie, pill B isn't the small blue one?
-

No. You're absolutely incorrect. It's one measurement. Using different amount of pills from each jar.certusd wrote:

Just to clarify.
One tablet or pill from jar a
Two from jar b
Three from jar c
Four from jar d
Five from jar e
Put them combined onto scales to weigh them.
Answer is fifteen grams minus how many .1grams shows which jar is 0.9 per pill. -
Oh I see that's good! Because if say its .4 away from 50 you know 4 were 0.9 and then that its Jar 4!

Well can I say my own logic puzzle?
There are two doors, each with a guard in front of the door. One door leads to freedom while the other leads to death. Also, one guard always tell the truth while the other always lies. You don't know which guard says what. You must ask 1 guard 1 question to learn which door to take. What do you ask?
-
Ask them what the other person would say is door to freedom. Take the opposite door
-
Nice that's the answer.

How can you throw a ball as hard as you can and it always comes back to you. Even though it doesn't bounce off of anything.
Easy. But only one I can remember. -
Throw it straight up. Gravity.

There is no ball. -
Guys its just gravity at work. Throw it straight up.

Pronounced as one letter,
And written with three,
Two letters there are,
And two only in me.
I'm double, I'm single,
I'm black, blue, and gray,
I'm read from both ends,
And the same either way.
What am I? -

If you are asking the truthful one, he will tell you what the liar will say, which is the wrong door. If its the liar then he will lie and tell the opposite of what the truthful would say is the right door, which is the wrong door. Either way, choose the other door. -

Why not push the guard through the door and check if its life or death?Well can I say my own logic puzzle?
