Is it best to buy a PC game right when it is released or wait a couple months for patched versions of the game? I am asking this because Total War: Rome II will be hitting shelves later this year and I just can't wait to play it!

I can fooking wait for Rome 2 replaying one right now and buy it when it comes our the Patches won't be that bad and if you want the price to go down that will take like a year

Yea I would buy it on release, patches now days aren't totally hideous anymore

When I saw this thread I thought of that game. How long does it usually take from release to where it's finally pretty issue free to buy?

Meaning that you basically have limitless options or what your budget will allow. With factory built pcs you dont have much choice but if you build you can choose the color of your case to the brand of graphics card you want.

Dang it i read it wrong. Oh well. I usually wait until there are preowned ones in game stop or until there is a sale on Steam. I fell so stupid now.

To be honest it's normally fine right off the bat. It's worth researching if it was obviously rushed (google) and if that doesn't come up you should be fine.
