Piracy?

When the next generation of consoles come out, some people are saying that it won't be posable to play used games. Microsoft and Sony both think that buying used games from stores like GameStop or online is technically piracy because they aren't getting any money from the purchase. Thoughts?

Well then why don't Toyota sue used vehicle dealers for piracy? Or Craigslist? Technically you're just changing the title to who owns the item for cash. The Companies already got money from the original purchase and they seem to be doing just fine.

While I understand Microsoft and Sony's position, I disagree. When the "online pass" for multiplayer started becoming the norm, I understood why, and it does make sense. I can also say the same about used games. However, I don't agree with it. With these changes slowly being out into effect, businesses such as GameStop will lose sales, customers, and ultimately, go out of business. Unless they can react quickly and come up with new sales and marketing strategies.

With that said, is it really worth putting companies like GameStop at the risk of going out of business? I think not

Heres an article about it from IGN i know it saysnew sony patent but i dont think its been confirmed yet. But IDK it would kill gamestop and other game dealers.

this seems like a good way to drive customers to xbox unless microsoft does the same. dont know how much it would help their sales either. if i go to game stop and buy a $20 game im not going to sub a $50 game for that i just dont have that kind of money for games. it would kill gamestop and drive enough customers away that i cant see ut being good for sony.
