To be honest, people can debate about whether it was right or wrong but they're are two facts that matter the most
1.) debating won't change what happened (I'm not saying its wrong to debate I'm just reminding people who get too into it)
2.) the mans dead.
And this I withdraw from the debate 😥

This doesn't change the fact that the Soviet Union constantly reached out to help the Us and pretty much single handedly destroyed the Nazi forces. Fact is that we didn't do much in the war, the Soviet Union did the most.Benny DaBOSS🔫💀🌄 wrote:
It takes two to tango. Stalin had plenty of reason to enter the war against Japan other than simply to aid the U.S. He sought to expand Soviet holdings in the East and exert greater influence in post war China. Stalin's actions in the East were far from simply altruistic assistance to an ally.ℜagɳar Loðbrók wrote:

I feel that the 1st was absolutely necessary, but we should have waited more than 3 days for the second bomb.

Benny- I wouldn't say the Soviets constantly reached out the U.S. The Soviets did have the highest number of casualties among the allies. However, much of the high casualty rate can be directly attributed to the purges of the Soviet military's officer corps, directed by Stalin. Had more competent officer been available and in place in the Soviet army early on the Eastern front the Soviets may have turned the Nazis out the first summer. Instead the Soviet army was hamstrung by Stalin's purges.

Millions of soviet civilians and hundreds of thousands of Soviet soldiers died because of Stalin's ruthless purges of competent military leaders.

They would have ended the war earlier with fewer Soviet casualties had Stalin not killed his most senior generals during the 30's. I am not disparaging the Soviet contribution to the allies victory in WWII, simply pointing out much of he suffering of the Soviet people is directly attributable to Stalin's actions. No one should ever view Stalin as anything but a ruthless tyrant. Certainly not a statesman.ℜagɳar Loðbrók wrote:

Japan was given the choice to surrender and responded basically with "we'll fight to the last man, woman and child". Truman accepted those terms.

Lemme think... Hahaha the best time I ever had was when I was 16, my parents sent me to a church camp.
My first day I got bored, so when the congregation came, I stood up and announced "I am a satinist, and you can all fk off."
I had an awsome costume on at the time; full length black trenchcoat, silver chains down the arms, electric blue sunglasses clashd with my bright red hair... Anyway.
That night, I get a knock on my cabin window, there's a girl there (bout a 7) and she takes me out into the woods, where she steals my virginity...
Every night, for the 2 week camp, came a different girl at my window 😉 -

✋EVERYBODY!✋
Just want to point out, that the Atomic Weapon (wasn't a Nuclear Bomb due to Physics, etc.) DID NOT VAPORISE PEOPLE! This is because the bomb exploded at a higher cieling (800m) and that the Bomb's efficency only reached >35% in Hiroshima and was >0.1% in Nagasaki.
As for the topic, I usually apply 2 quotes to this debate.
1. History is always written by the Victor
2. The Ends justify the meansI believe that in this case, it was more justified. Yes, blowing up a city with a Nuke isn't the best way, but neither is charging into Japan and probably destroying what was left of the cities. If you think about it, the Americans were considerate in not Targeting both Tokyo and Kyoto (they feared that the Japanese would never forgive them). Osaka was also spared due to bad weather. Was it the right thing to do? Not really. Did they have a choice? Well, if you consider charging into Imperialist Japan and probably getting a Fight-to-the-Death scenario a choice, than Yes.
NUKING JAPAN= Yes

To say he 'saved the world' is pushing it quite a bit, but he did make a massive contribution to the war. The majority of Wermacht soldiers killed during the war lost their lives on the Eastern Front. But yeah, Stalin really screwed over his military when he started killing off his best officers.ℜagɳar Loðbrók wrote:

They didn't hit military targets.. Well they did but by default. This was a direct attack on civilians. It was the most scumbag act carried out by any government in the modern age. Disgusting.

I think it was a good way to end the war, but was bad as it killed innocent people.
