I caught on the news they finally reached an agreement this morning at 5am. What I didn't catch we're the terms. Does anyone know some of the terms that they reached this morning?

They agreed to another LockOut again in 2-3 years just to make sure they lose whatever fans are left. Minor League hockey will always surpass professional
-
That figures they would do that.

$70 million salary cap. Goes down to $64 next year. Players want a portion of advertising profits. They're trying to bring games back to the Staples center too. That's all I caught earlier it was like 6:00 I wasn't paying much attention haha.

they still have to agree on all the wording and vote on it but its nice to hear some good news! nice timing too season will start about when the playoffs are ending.
-
For the first year, the salary cap is $60 million but teams can spend up to $70.2 million in the transition period, while the floor is $44 million.
Sources said the 2013-14 salary cap, a very divisive issue, will be $64.3 million, while the floor will remain at $44 million.
info above is from espn. wonder if there is a penalty fir going up to 70

Ahh thanks for correcting. I knew I had heard $70 million somewhere. Thought that was the cap. Yeah the cap is what they're hung up on the most. For the first year, the salary cap is $60 million but teams can spend up to $70.2 million in the transition period, while the floor is $44 million.

I am as excited about this as I was the NBA returning last year, meaning not excited at all.

And the Leafs will not make the playoffs, even with a shortened season.

Lets go Pens! I have been following this from the beginning and honestly did not think they could get a new deal done in time to salvage part of the season. I'm happy I was wrong!
-
👍👍👍👍 Let's go Oilers!!!

Sabres and capitals 😈

Yay! Be nice to actually see a Ducks game or two before the season ended before it started. Now if only TV stations would cover more games.
-
Feel bad for kings. This was their season
-
I personally will not be attending any games this season and I won't be tuning in at home, when I watch I will go to a bar or restraint near Consol energy center to help make up for the money they have lost throughout this. Small businesses near arenas are the ones who lost the most during this lockout.

Hockey was gone? Didn't even notice.

Whatever happened to "For the love of the game"?

Fuck Bettman and his NHL, he's the worst thing to happen to hockey.

i used to stand up fir him a lot. as a pens fan i know he helped a lot in their getting a new arena and with other teams staying put. the last lockout got revenue sharing abd rules changes but they were needed 10 years earlier. this time it was just greed. since the last lockout revenue is up for the league and players. they have a good broadcast partner in nbc and ratings are higher than ever. i understand that some teams were hurting still but the owners should have split revenue further. this was stupid. time for bettman to go.Fuck Bettman and his NHL, he's the worst thing to happen to hockey.

I used to feel the exact same way about bettman. Through the years and with all this. My confidence in him is just about completely gone.tullid wrote:

bettman wont go anywhere though. he did what the owners wanted and thats his job. sucks because whats good for the owners isnt always whats good for the game. feel bad for the players cause they had to give up a lot again. hopefulky it works out well in the long run like last time for them.
