I've always been a fan of humanism. It is a perfect model, but people are too selfish for it to work the way it was intended.

Not everyone. I think for a lot of people it really comes down to trust. No one can trust so we live our lives preparing for possible attacks we imagine most people are plotting against us. I don't think most people actually want to hurt one another these days. But they feel they are forced into it because who knows if this is true.I've always been a fan of humanism. But this fear of each other absolutely will continue to fade the more connected the world becomes, and the smaller it gets.
This time in history is marking the near end of the drastic global social change which have been gaining momentum for the last several decades. we are being conditioned RIGHT NOW. We are choosing social outlets as our preferred form of entertainment more and more each day.
Every movie, TV show, book, video game. All of it. All forms of expression which we think are just simple entertainment. We are starting to accept the fact that learning is fun without even realizing it.
Things are absolutely going to change, because if you haven't noticed, its all anyone keeps talking about. If you need an example just watch what happens if someone uses the "r" word around here now. Think anyone would have even noticed 20 years ago? We are becoming better. It's just not always obvious because a select minority dont want us to notice.

Not everyone benefits from this change however. Well at least in their minds. Power is still cherished by them. But these people are about to run out of ways to keep it. So many people are left out of this game that its losing its meaning to most. Since most people have little to none of the power, it becomes meaningless to them. If no one besides a small minority believes in it, why would it continue to be relievent to the world.
And that's my drunken rant which has nothing to do with Marxism now that I think about it. Oh well
