The car seat is a must because you can't leave the hospital without it. Make sure it's installed correctly (it doesn't move more than an inch or so in an direction), or take it to a fire station and let 4nick8r and his boys pause Madden 2013 and come out and help you.
LMFAO. 😂😂😂
2 things:
1) I seriously have over 40 hours of class time on car seat installation. Come by anytime.
2) Call of Duty, Black Ops 2. Not Madden. 👍 -
Great advice so far. On diapers: some kids gets rashes w/certain brands. Buy a couple types just in case. You'll figure it out quickly. Same with wipes. Cloth diapers for burping, etc. are a must. A few onsies in diff sizes are good to have around. Blankets can help regulate warmth until you have enough clothing. Breast pump!!! And bottles even if you're breast feeding. Pacifiers, rash cream, and a bag to put this junk in and you're good for quite a while. Most hospitals (in the US) send you home with a starter kit of formula, etc. Take it! You just never know. Most of all, be flexible. You have in mind what this will be like. Sometimes, your baby has other ideas and life has still ideas of its own. No matter what, you can do it. Be willing to sacrifice some small things just to enjoy the little one (the big thing). Enjoy!!!❤💋

One more thing, just so you're not shocked like I was. Diapers don't always work. Poo can, and does, shoot all the way up their back almost to their neck or work its way down the legs. Better diapers just reduce how often this happens, they don't prevent it. I honestly had no idea. I assumed a device designed to contain poo would contain poo effectively.

My wife and I didn't do any classes mainly because we had been helping raise kids nephews nieces etc out whole lives but that's not everyone. So that's all down to you.
Secondly, we had EVERYTHING ready to go for when they got home. When I say everything I mean EVERYTHING!!! Bassinet, car seat, cot, pram, clothes for new born, 3month, 6month, 9 month, 12 month, formula, nappies, baby wipes, bottles, sterlizer, everything! You gotta prepare best you can so to make sure you're never short if baby needs anything. We were always 5 or 6 tins of formula in front and same with nappies. This was before my boy even got home hahah even now my mrs is buying clothes for when my boy is 4! He's turning 2 tomorrow haha. Anyway congrats by the way, don't stress it to much. Just enjoy every moment it's such an awesome ride! If you got any other questions feel free to shoot me a PM. Ill always be glad to help if I can.
-
1 more tip! Depending on how good you are at wiping a bum you might want to grab 1 or 2 bags of baby wipes every time you grab nappies. I was useless so we burned through wipes really fast ahhahaha 😂😜
-
wow. I remember the times when you had some bad news and fell upon unfortunate times.
Congratulations -
Get ready to inspect the meconium, and be excited when the proper poo arrives!
-
Carry those little plastic bags you get at the grocery for when they have a blow out and the poo reaches their hair, socks, entire outfit and probably you. They love to poo in public. It keeps you humble.

sleep...as much as possible. and don't get frustrated/mad/angry when the baby cries and you don't know what the hell to do, you'll figure it out like the rest of us.
make sure not to forget that you and your wife need each other, it's easy to focus just on the baby and forget about each other's needs. always talk with your wife.

You can pm me anytime vito and I'll try and offer any advice I can.👍

Not all the same size though. And get baby wipes also.Get a pack of diapers everytime you go to the store.

As everyone has said, get everything ready now, my first was three months early.
Be prepared for feeling you're doing everything wrong, some people will even tell you you're doing everything wrong. But here's a little secret... You can't really do anything wrong. It just gets easier with practise. -
One of my suggest look up babycenter.com also it has app as well. It is very useful and help us prepare for everything we had our first daughter last year. Cheer!

✊👆👆👆✊Well said by Rebel. Me and my wife didn't take any classes either. Honestly you just kinda figure it out as you go along. No one person has all the right answers. The one definite thing is that being a parent is the best thing ever. Congrats again 👍

You should get the kid a cat. All kids should have a cat.
Or a parrot. Yeah, parrots are probably better. they can learn to talk together, like in Paulie! 😍
Or get the kid both!!! 🐱😄🐤 -

As sweet as the idea was. It's a bad one for a newborn. A few babies have been suffocated by cats trying to steal milk etc.You should get the kid a cat. All kids should have a cat.

Also, if the cats feaces get into the child's eyes by some unfortunate act then it can cause epilepsy and blindness in future life.If you have a dog or something. Be careful, and.. When you get home from hospital keep the blanket you wrapped the baby in(still cover in gooey stuff) and wash in water. And give it the dog to protect, this way the dog won't attack.

Vito you and your wife need to sign up for coupons from all baby companys ... J&J , P&G, all of them they send bigtime coupons and gifts.. a newborn is the best gift in the world but please take this advice ... enjoy your time alone with each other before he's born

Sorry but this is very bad advice ... never give a dog something that belongs to a newborn or child for that matter to "protect" the dog needs to learn very fast that it cant go near the baby or its things without you there period !!!If you have a dog or something. Best advice ever, though? RELAX. Billions of humans have done this for many, many years. So you can, too. Doesn't have to be perfect just has to be you. Your baby will know you, love you and some day laugh right along with you when you make goofy mistakes. Be human together instead of always parent v. child (or vice versa). Show them what amazes you and they'll do the same. You'll make mistakes. Accept it now. So will they. In the end, though, they will be some of your fave ppl on earth to sit around and enjoy.

Yes buy a car seat(bucket) before the baby comes. You can't take the baby out of the hospital without one.I had some questions for first time parents, as some of you know my wife is now just past 6 months pregnant with our first baby boy after trying for 6 plus years, I needed some advice since I was not really sure who I could ask or just google my questions.
First question, does my wife and I need to take prenatal courses before our baby arrives ?
2- should we start preparing now for the baby by buying the car seat, preparing for the hospital stay?
Any advice would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Vito

Its easy to forget about the partner when the newborn Arrives.
And basicly the start of me and my ex breaking up when my daughter was 2.This is now 10 years ago, and i wouldnt change a single day since my daughter was born... Its the best that ever happened to me and the main reason im still around and breathing... (when we broke up i bad some very dark thoughts, but there was always that little kids face in my mind preventing me...)

Learn CPR for infants before leaving the hospital. It should be free.Like others said keep your cool when the baby cries. Things should come natural.good luck

One tip is when putting the diaper on the child, fold down the back edge of the diaper before you put the kid in it. It helps to minimize the blow out that go all the way up to their necks.

I went to a class to prepare myself for what I ws to expect during labor and about the recommended techniques on how to handle it. However, I've ended up having 4 c-sections. But being in nursing school and having done my rotation in labor and delivery, as well as, caring for newborns please feel free to ask me any questions that you or your wife may have. I will do my best to answer them.

And don't get a cat! Not because I think cats are shit animals but because you don't know how your newborn's skin will react to cat fur. Cats fur and dogs fur caused bad irritation for my son when he was new born.
