For Christmas I am going to get a new iPod touch, this one is broken (it's a miracle I'm even playing TW!). I haven't jailbroken before and I want to jb this iPod.

Could anybody tell me the pros/cons, how to do it, ect.

I know there are different programs (or different somethings) like blackra1n and a few others. which is the best?

Open www.jailbreakme.com on your device and it will do it automatically, providing you dont have the latest firmware..

Easy as that.

Just goto that site, it will either work or it wont.

Be aware that it will void the warranty.. though it is reversable.

I've tried redsn0w, blackra1n and spirit jb but jailbreakme was the easiest by miles

I know if you In ios4 then just ignore blackra1n and spiritjb. Those are for iPhone os 3. I'm not too familiar with ios4 jailbreaks. Look it up on www.ipodtouchfans.com

I tried out jailbreakme.com. I slid the bar and it says 'downloading this might take awhile' but it took 3-5 seconds. then it said installing or something and another loading bar starts. it gets about a second into it and it crashes and exits safari.

What do I do :$

Try reboot your iPod first than retry the download

Noise don't try if your on version 4.0.2 or 3.1.3 . It will brick your iPod apparently.

None for newest verisob don't update it and go to jailbreakme.com download the software connect your iPod with USB cord and hit jailbreak
