These TV ads are always showing how awesome their picture is by comparing it to another TV side by side. They also claim that it has a better picture than mine. The problem is, how am I supposed to see how awesome the TV on TV is if my inferior TV is incapable of displaying such an awesome picture?

Dude that's the point - you're not witnessing the true awesomeness of their commercials without buying one of their TVs. You need to buy their tv, then decide based on their commercials if it was a smart purchase.

If you can read the small print it says " simulated picture " wtf how can the simulated picture be better than the real thing

Well that explains why my 5-year-old TV has been randomly shutting off, the sound spikes for no reason, sometimes it just stays muted and gives me the silent treatment, and why the picture is starting to look like shit. It's going through menopause.
