The slave trade is alive and well and in fact there are more slaves in the world today than when the trade was abolished... Difference is we now recognise it as immoral and it is illegal, previously it was endorsed and carried out by governments.

Slavery and the salve trade is still very much alive. All the human trafficking is a perfect example of modern day slave trade. Thousands of people are abducted, primarily at airports, and sold to someone else to do whatever. If you need a painfully explicit example of slavery, look at underage workers in southwest Asia.
All of the atrocities are just wearing a mask of cultural relativism. -
