Great idea starting with a perfect square, but I really can't stand the number five. Also, counting down is so pessimistic, we should be counting up! So here's my idea, 8 days of Hannukah (let's be inclusive), the perfect square of 64 means we should count up to 64! So that means we should've started on October 22, (10-22 is the Kwanzaa verse titled "Birth of Jesus" so again, we're being inclusive). So with that being said, my suggestion is to count forward to 64 on Dec 25 starting a month or do ago. Right now we're on number 40 (Didn't it rain for this many days and nights back when Santa built the ark...? You follow me now?).

So, 40 days!

I think it's a good idea to count to Christmas differently. People should do it their own way.
But if they do, they should state how they did it.
Example, " Only 24 days until Xmas".
Instead of, " Only 24 days."
I personally will be counting down, but that's just my personal preference. P.S.: I wish you a merry christmas.

Also, maybe it would be a good idea say something interesting about the number of date it is. Like The Irish of "The first day of December" is "An chéad lá de mí Nollag".
