Are you planning on over clocking it? Get an aftermarket CPU cooler... Always nice to have. What kind of thermal paste are you planning on using amd's run hot... I use Artic Silver on all my processors.
-
I am building my own as well. I just need the CPU and the GPU. You could consider an optical drive to boot the OS, but you can do that via USB drive. if you ever want to Crossfire you might want to check out motherboards compatible with that. Try using this website.

Also I think this subreddit would be more helpful.

My suggested current gen build-
Intel Core i3 3220
2x4gb Corsair Vengeance ram
MSI Radeon 7770 (cheaper than Sapphire)
Asrock H61M-DGS Micro ATX motherboard
HDD/SSD based on what you plan on doing with this rig
430w Corsair PSU, sale with rebate- 15.99. All you'll need to run the rig. -

I3 is far slower then x6.. Stick for gaming with amd together with amd graphicscard with at least 1gb memory..use at least a 64gb ssd for the os (c drive) and a normal disk for data (d drive)... The rest is must fine... Hope u have a 1080p screen...

Oww dont knibble to much on the mainboard it should have a load of usb2 and 3 connection. 1gb networking card 7.1 soundcard if u fance a on biard one.. Forget any onboard video it is rubish...

8gb ram minimum for gaming, and I have the 3220- it's clocked faster than all phenom models out there. The only thing that beats it is the A10 5800k, and that's only with it's APU- with a dedicated GPU the speed of the system beats the speed of the 5800k+GPU. I've had both, sold my 5800k so I could afford the 7770.I3 is far slower then x6.. So if i buy an SSD will that boost just the start up or will it boost my performance in games too?

Probably won't boost preformance in games at all. Should really only make it start up faster and load games on the hard drive a little bit faster. Get the HDD, or a really small SSD for core programs and OS.So if i buy an SSD will that boost just the start up or will it boost my performance in games too?

Alright, here's what I have in mind-
i3 3220
Corsair Vengeance 2x4gb 1600
Asrock H61M Micro ATX mobo
500w+ PSU (500w+ is good for any GPU suggestions unless you crossfire)
And totaled this should cost roughly 300$. Alotted 100$ for the case and 100$ for the HDD and you can get a massive GPU. I'd suggest which brand depending on what you plan on playing- MOBA's or Everything? -

Why not get the 8 Core AMD, last time I checked it was around $150 USD

No you don't... From experience, I can tell you that you'll need a solid 2 fans that are a decent size. Stock case fans are fine. New systems aren't your typical heater boxes. For gaming all you need is the 3220, at most the i5 2500k OC'ed, but they're not even needed at all...ⱣλБŁΩ🔫🌊🗻 wrote:
