Story Time: The Mothmen.
Forums › General Discussion › Story Time: The Mothmen.-
Hello everyone! As I'm going through the appalachian mountains, I remember a story my Uncle Jackie told me last Christmas. Tis a story of the Mothmen. I ask that, since it will take a while for me to type it, you all refrain from posting until the end. The rest of the story will be from Uncle Jackie's perspective. It is entirely true, to the rest of my family's knowledge.

Alright little Clone, you haven't heard this story yet but now that you're thirteen I shall tell you it. Let's go back to, well it was 1973 I believe. Your aunt carol and I were in west Virginia, in the mountains in my old yellow convertable. Now I should tell you before hand that earlier that month I had a bit of a fender bender causing my right headlight to point to the right rather than forward.
-
Anyway, we were riding through these mountains. Your aunt carol, I know you never met her but she was in the passenger seat next to me. Well we was going through the mountains and it was late at night, maybe 11:00. Beutiful clear night, nice clear sky, so we rode with the top down.
-
Now the native Americans would tell stories of the firebirds, these bird men looking creatures that stood around seven feet tall. They are black or gray colored, and had fiery red eyes, hence their names. They live in the mountains and have extremely long wings with which they glide down the mountains and scoop up prey with their long legs, then run back up the mountain, with little effor because of their long legs. The native would tell the pilgrims not to let their kids out near the mountains unattended because of these birds for fear they would scoop them up.
-
Hang on everyone I keep getting dead zones, give me a couple minutes to continue
-
So me and aunt carol are going down the highway through the mountains in west Virginia, and we pass this clearing on our right. Now like I said my one headlight was shining towards the right due to the little accident. And in this clearing we saw a burnt down house, with what looked like four or five very tall mean wearing these dark grey trench coats. So I slam on the breaks and they let out a loud SCREECH as we skid past, and suddenly all these men turn around and I see they have these long beaks and big red eyes, and they all take off into the woods just after i pass. So I throw the car into reverse and back up and one swoops right over our car. His wingspan was as wide as the highway and he was so close that I could've reached right on up and touched him. Looking back I realized that he may have been coming after me, and they may have been the reason that house burnt down and they may have eaten those poor people.
-
Now Clone, I'm sure you know how I love telling you stories to mess with ya, but I want you to know that I'm telling you the entire truth right now. And your aunt carol was not one to lie, and she said this was true her whole life. Go ahead and ask your grandma, she'll tell ya if aunt carol said its true or not.

So you know how there's that movie, "The Mothman Prophecies" or something like that? Well I sent in my story to them and they wouldnt take it! Said it wasn't scary enough. But they weren't their. They didn't look into the eyes of these beasts, didn't have one fly over their car coming after them.
Well I saw that movie, and I'll tell you alot of it was a load of baloney. They didn't take down no bridge. I will agree completely with the part where the women looks out her window and there's one in her yard. They do that you know. And also when the one was just standing their in the road at the beginning. But believe it of you want, I tell you it's the truth. -
So what does turf wars think about this? Truth or no? I think it's true. I could hear it in his voice, see it in his eyes when he recalled the part bout the house.
Feel free to post now.
The end. -
You guys can discuss if you want...

As far as I know about the mothman, one lives in an abandond dynamite factory over in Illinois.. I think.
As for the story, I believe what I see, in this case, not see.
Noone can prove it didn't happen, so 👍 -
My family hunting camp is in mothmans stomping grounds. I sometimes get an eerie feeling when I'm making my way to the tree stand at 5 in the morning.

It was the silver bridge. The stories about it are mostly local. I doubt you will find any information on the Internet.✨Ѣཞⅈℤℤ✨ wrote:

The thing is, I live about an hour from Point Pleasant. It makes sense to me that there would be such a creature there. People have no idea how creepy and haunted WV is. A friend of mine grew up in PP and she said her mom saw the Mothman while driving by the old army/war fort thing. She said all she could see were bright red eyes against the darkness of night.

I got a turf on the current silver bridge. I'm going to change my name and cap everyone off it.
I am the mothman.
