Do you live in Washington state?
Forums › General Discussion › Do you live in Washington state?-
My wife and I are expecting our third child in April and are thinking of relocating to a different state to just "get away" and start anew.
We have a few locations in mind and have started to research these places. I am curious as to what residents of WA think about life in their state. -
We are moving back there in a couple of months. As long as you don't mind the rain it's temperate and when it's sunny it's the best place on earth
Cost of livings not to bad, now that the housing market has come down. Health insurance is speedy though

And by boss I mean totally appropriate. Schools are great, DC is a great day trip for the kids.

Suburban areas in Wisconsin near smaller towns are a good place to live in. Or for me t least...

I'm right now in Oregon and Washington is pretty similar. Seattle is a very outdoorsy city as is most of Washington. Skiing, the beach, hiking. There's a lot. The only downside is the weather. From about October to June it is very rainy.

Best place I think is Tacoma , lived there for four years.still hate I left the state and we just missed the salmon bake😞WA👍
-
West Des Moines, IA it's rated no.1 in the U.S. as the best place to raise a family.👍

Moved from northern CA to Seattle area 20 years ago. Love the area if you want city living try north Seattle, it is great. If you want to just be close to the city try the eastside (Kirkland, Redmond, Bellevue)

And yes I have 2 kids (12 and 14) and they love the area in Kirkland plus the schools are the best. Also they can get to most everywhere with the bus system. Less time being a dad taxi.

I would honestly say it depends on what line of work your in.
-
The East side in my openion is better. I live by the Columbia River where there is plenty of fishing. Not nearly as wet from the rain and fog as the west side.
-
The Detroit suburbs. They got everything you need.

Portland is more affordable than Seattle, is less congested, has better beer, and is one of the few cities where you aren't at a serious disadvantage is you don't have a car.

It defiantly depends on where in Washington. Varies a lot!

Which part?

I grew up in Bothell Wa. It was a pretty cool place to grow up. There is a surprising amount of things to do outdoors there.

Any recommended areas for fishing and hunting?
-
Suburbs of Cleveland (especially Avon lake, bay village, etc. ) have very nice schools and are safe communities, they are close to the Lake Erie islands and Cleveland which are very nice areas. As for hunting/fishing, there are areas around there for fishing and there is hunting in west PA, about a 2.5 hour drive from there
