I'm shopping around at the moment to find the best Internet deals and I thought I'd turn to turf wars for some advice.
I'm looking for something reasonably priced with a solid speed.

I know the rep they have can get pretty sour, but I have been a user of BT since the good old scrrreeecchhh ding a ding a ring screech days. 😄👍 never had a single bit of hassle. Only ever needed to contact them once this whole time, to replace a defective home hub.
Although there are cheaper alternatives, the kind of service I have had now, over so long, can't be replaced. I even kept it over the free service SKY offer to customers. 👍

Virgin should be doing half price for the first six months. £21 per month for 6 months then £28 after six months.
This is for unlimeted and the the highest speed package. -
There is only one option I would ever go with and that's BT....infinity all the way
-
I'm torn between BT and virgin. I've heard that virgin can be faster than BT but then again it comes at a cost.
-
We are on virgin, but in an old diamond cable area, I don't know if it makes any difference to cost, but speed is ok
-
I had to go virgin, as our old phone lines in the area meant I could get only 2 meg, no matter who I went with (was paying Sky for up to 20meg, getting 2!). Is BT infinity fiber optic?
-
Can't get Virgin as I'm in a reasonably new build.
The BT package I need is very expensive and I can't get friend/family discount👎 so I'm going with sky, my neighbours are with sky and they get good speed so hopefully I will🙏 -

Yup, Infinity is optic. BT are in the process of upgrading the network and have quite a comprehensive update programme.I had to go virgin, as our old phone lines in the area meant I could get only 2 meg, no matter who I went with (was paying Sky for up to 20meg, getting 2!). They dropped the ball many years ago when they stopped the fiber optic rollout plans, claiming they could not envisage a time when mass communications would utilise the potential. A few years later companies like Virgin came along and showed them how they failed. 😄

Yeah I checked on the BT website, and there's not even a date for installation in my area. Looks like I'm staying a virgin for a while..[Add:Baz]Boffer wrote:
