The shot itself isn't painful, but the after effects is what gets me.

I have a question: aside from any required ones I have never gotten a flu shot. If I decided to get one could I get sick? I know my one friend got one last year and got the flu and was deathly Ill.

From the shot, or from catching flu else where?

I have actually heard about a lot of people who get sick after getting the flu shot...but I have heard ranges from minor cold symptoms to full on flu.

After a flu shot your immune system is weaker than normal. It takes ab two weeks before its strong again. That's why the advise against hanging out in hospitals or around anyone that's sick. If you do get sick right after you get the shot, it's usually worse than normal.

It is very possible to get sick from the Flu shot. What do you think it is?
It's a small amount of the flu virus. Sometimes it's too much or your body can't handle it so you get sick from it.

This is not precisely correct. The flu shot includes pieces of the influenza virus that judged by the CDC to be the most prevalent this season. It is not live virus and is unable to cause infection. It "trains" your immune system to recognize these particular strains of Influenza so that when you DO encounter the live virus your immune system will be ready to deal with it.

As mentioned earlier, however, right after immunization your immune system is a bit busier than usual, so certain people will be somewhat more susceptible to OTHER infections & you may be somewhat more likely to get ill from something else you encounter. That's why they always ask if you're currently sick before giving you the shot.

Some advice from a doctor,it's a very personal choice if you want the shot.you can do very easy steps everyday to protect yourself.the shot effects people differently,it depends on their immune system and how it fights off disease.if you get it you might be fine,buys its always possible to get sick from this,usually it's not to serious but 1 in 5 million people will get a deathly disease,it's just what happens and your taking your own risk.

It is a dead virus, you get sick due to a weaker immune system, that's a fact the shot itself does not make you sick

Shots are dead virus. Mist is weakened live virus.

It is MUCH more likely that you will kill someone weaker than you with the viri you generate than you yourself contracting some rare disease from the vaccine.

It's not about your sniffles. It's about the infant, diseased, or elderly people that you might spread it to. Many thousands die every year from influenza.

Your little prick can save lives.
