Intel vs. AMD
Forums › General Discussion › Intel vs. AMD-
Have never seen this kind of thread before. In my opinion. AMD is better for gaming, but you will be a hell of a cooling system. You can cook bacon with an AMD. And for casual use intel is better.

Noooope.
AMD is good for casual gaming and older hardcore (TF2), and budget rigs with no budget for a gpu, but Intel is better for a solid build with a higher budget for OCing with a high end gpu. Depends on budget and use really though. -

AMD is cheaper I will say that. But considering the kind of cooling system you need to get to work properly with it, (in terms of if you were building a PC) it's nearly the same.

Actually they are Borh pretty much equal for gaming. And intel has a wider range of things it can handle. I'm pretty good with computers and I just built a new 2000$ pc from scratch like 3 weeks ago using a 500$ processor. I do video editing and gaming. The dual processor I got is just beast. My vote definitely goes to Intel

Intel just costs more for the number floating point operations/sec in cpu and mainboard.. Amd is native 64bit intel just supports 64bit extentions. Intel has the name to be more stabel in production systems and to consume less power per operation..

Fact: AMD reversed engineed the first gen Intel processor.
They didn't fully follow the procees because it is against the law.
AMD and Intel make about the same kind of processor but:
Intel owns also all tech involved with dual core and hi-speed bus routes.
Always buy a processor based on what you want your computer to do. -

When amd made their first 64bit cpu they switched from prop. Intel tech x86 to their own architecture. Nowadays amd64 only emulates x86. Also the way the cores interconnect are quite different and if i remember correctly amd also houses the memory controller on board whilst intel still has the north and south bridge.
