In his fair well address George Washington said that political parties will tear our nation apart. Who agrees?
-
Completely agree

Agree. America is a fairly new country, and hasn't gone through the intense turmoil that many other nations have endured. So it's only a matter of time before it happens. Possibly through differences between political parties?

"All of the parties are in a boat. Each party is pointing at each other and saying they have a hole in their side of the boat, and they need to fix it. Even if this is true, however, they are all in the same boat in the end, and they will sink together."

I agree. we can't fix it by voting, we have to make congress work by passing laws. There were 245 "threats" to stop laws in the senate in 2012 by both parties. The threats are as easy as a phone call to Harry Reid (even though I disagree with him, he has a tough job) who has to try to stop them which rarely happens. In the 1960s the majority leader only had to deal with one threat. Political parties need to work together. It's not a game, it's a country. In his fair well address George Washington said that political parties will tear our nation apart. Who agrees?

Incorrect. Place socialism onto the trash heap of history because it's fascist and enslaving by its nature. In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. But in practice, there is.
Also - Washington was not advocating a single party system lol, he was advocating that there be no political parties, and that everyone run on their own ideas and the merit of their own policies and beliefs.

I agree 101%. The two parties need to stop blaming each other for the country's problems and work together to fix them.

Washington said that and right away 2 people ignored his warning

Communism in it's purest form is sound, unfortunately politicians screw it up. -
The problem is, that without parties, unfortunately we'd have no clear winner....we would have hundreds of candidates and we'd end up with no one getting 270 electors.

Communism does not take into consideration the fact that man is basically evil. The founding fathers did, and tried to provide checks and balances, but unfortunately due to judicial and executive legislation, which is unconstitutional, we've opened the door to craziness. Our founding fathers knew that we could not be a true direct democracy, that is why the states used to have powers, as they should under our Confederate Republic.🌾ᏦᎻᎪᏞ🌾 wrote:

No...regardless of how it's governed, there is still no class system? Why should I spend 40 hours a week (hypothetically speaking) working a highend corporate job or government job when I'd be making the same, or just about the same money as someone working at Walmart or McDonalds? I might as well just doing nothing since we'd all get paid the same. That's a reason why communism doesn't work...it's fair in giving every citizen an opportunity and evenly distributing land, money, etc with the pollution, but it's not fair because those who had highend jobs were being forced to give their money to farmers -
