The future

What can we expect? The way the world is progressing as a whole really frightens me. Humans are generally afraid of change, so we won't change until completely necessary. For example, energy consumption. Anyone agree, disagree.

Malthus has been wrong up to this point because he could not foresee human ingenuity in increasing the resources available to them. We can only hope this continues, since the current pace of resource consumption certainly seems unsustainable.

Imagine that you are a mass collective of information and consciousness whose goal is obtaining more knowledge and experience.
You aren't bound to the limitations of time and space. You can travel between dimensions freely.
However some experiences require you to be unaware of the true reality if you wish to collect them.
The most efficient way to get those experiences could very well be to divide yourself into physical vessels of yourself which are unaware of their destiny. Dying would simply be remerging with the collective, and thus progressing the reason.

To understand the future you must understand that you already made it. You are already a TIME LORD!
Hahaha. -
My car is a time machine. I get in and when I get out I'm some where else.

While I'm currently pessimistic about the long-term prospects, human ingenuity is a funny thing. Growing up with gas lines in the 70's I never would have predicted that North America would be poised to be the top energy-producing region in the world, with reserves dwarfing Saudi Arabia's. Whether frakking will turn out to have been worth it I can't say, but it is a good example of how our species keeps on finding more and more ways of increasing the resources available to them.

It's due to the world's economy being so dependent on petroleum. We have already developed clean energy technologies. We just aren't willing to use them until it's needed. The years during the transition to other energy sources will be traumatic to the worlds economy. Oil companies don't want people to stop using oil. If we do suddenly it's not just them that will fail. All the companies dependent on them will to.While I'm currently pessimistic about the long-term prospects, human ingenuity is a funny thing. im optimistic about our future. its amazing how little changes can help so much. saw a show about farms recently. they put gps computerized controls on their machinery. now all the rows of crops are plowed perfectly straight instead of a slight curve/angle when a human does it. increased crops by 10% or something like that. next will be farm factories that can be built like office buildings several stories tall. plants are suspended in the air(no soil) and misted when needed. was developed for nasa but you could put them on top of ervery building. no need for farm land and minimal need of water.

and thats just agriculture. people are always finding ways of stretching our resources. i always thought malthus underestimated human inventiveness and our ability to discover new resources. we still havent perfected fusion or solar energy and both would be practically limitless. and effecient desalinization would help millions around the world.

Haha oh. Nevermind my posts. I don't think I have the same world view as the vibe I'm picking up.

Ill probably be some kind of scientist.. Building inventions in my space lab in space.
Ill end world hunger, ill make dolphins speak-
Work through the days then spend my nights and weekends perfecting my warrior robot race. Building them one laser gun at a time; I will do my best to teach them,
About life and what it's worth.... I just hope that I can keep them from destroying the earth!! -
One thing is certain... Death.
Have a nice future everyone.

I don't think we are nessecarily gonna advance technological, but rather make things/processes/gizmos more efficient some thing like streamline everything that is possible

One thing is certain. The fact that nothing is absolutely able to be proven certain. Also paradoxes. -

One thing is certain. It's never black and white. It's a infinite amount of grey smudges, and gray shades blending into focus.
There is no devil's advocate. Just you running your fingers through the perceptions you are given.

I gave no thought to my last replies to this thread. But I am also very much capable of spinning a lie into a half truth.
So to can I spin fleeting thoughts into something that someone could find inspiration in.
But when does that truth mean anything to anyone who will never be aware of me?
I don't know.

Green man, damn you twisted my mind. I now feel torn between dimensions while riding on a pink pony along the super rainbow express, throwing out floral scented butterflies to the waiting crowds, who are cheering to a family of disco otters on a trance vibe.
I dunno, it's just the way you makeh me feeul.
😄👍
