That would be funny if 17 people weren't deadI'm in Florida. Did something happen? It's 70's and sunny here.
Oh wait, is this about that little Category 1 hurricane up north?

We're just saying when 3 large hurricanes hit us in one year they don't really do anything for us. And when a cat 1 hurricane hits a place they normally don't it's on the world news for now 3 days.★Λubergine★ wrote:

At 8 miles wide/long its the biggest hurricane in US history, I hope everyone is safe including family and friends!

Should they have been driving through a hurricane? Probably not. That's dumb. Where's the thread for the 41 killed by Isaac this year? Lighten up, seriously.
Amen. Hurricanes were so common in Puerto Rico that the whole area was called Hurricane Alley. People there are smart and build houses out of concrete. The only people that ever died we're the ones in the mountains that had houses built from wood. Every house had a generator and water to last for weeks. People there were prepared. Americans think they're invincible though. That's the problem -
NY and the Northeast aren't prepared for hurricane weather, physically or mentally. In terms of death toll, Sandy was average. But in terms of psychological impact, and financial, it's huge. If FL were hit with a Cali sized earthquake, it'd crumble and you guys would be extremely rattled (no pun intended). It's all relative.

We felt some of the wind and rain effects all the way up by Lake Erie. Thankfully, we only lost our trash can, the cover for the grill and the cover for my el camino.

Lost power for a few hours here in MD, and Internet is still down, but otherwise everything was fine.
