What are your favourite horror films? Some of my personal favourites are-The Omen(classic in my opinion),paranormal activity(any of them) any saw(gory but clever plots)nosferatu(extremely old but quite enjoyable), and the shining lol. There's probably some I'm forgetting though.

go see sinister now.

The thing. The shining and The Exorsist

Troll 2. Really,I mean really bad but hilarious. Along that vein, the Stuff where White cream vacates your body is worth the watch, in particular the part where Chocolate Chip Charlie get it.Baby is another "classic" where a mother has her 40 year old son in diapers... And a gratuitous scene of "baby" molesting the babysitter.
-
Compiling a few true classics now Joe.A cry away from Basket Case and such like.

But yes,I can see how a list can be a turn-off. I give these movies the Vish sanction. Mayhaps,A brief synopsis would be opportune.

Actually, I love the list. I've been trying to think of my favs & the classics since I've been using a lot as turf names this month. I haven't dug up the thread from last year, although their were some good ones on it.
I'd add White Noise & Vacancy to those above. I know I'm forgetting a bunch. There may be more on my turf list, lol.

Note the absence of slasher films.I can't hack them though Saw has its moments but not my cup of tea.I much prefer the psychological or supernatural.Another film worth mentioning is "Magic" starring Anthony Hopkins as a ventriloquist. The doll seems to control him though.A naturally reticent man,the puppet forces him to do nasty things. It took me quite a while to search that one out.vishbume wrote:

John Carpenter is worthy of a mention.Vampires,The Thing,The Fog or Lord of Darkness. As is Roger Corman.A good Hammer movie never goes astray either.
