In the anticipation of Hurricane Sandy, I was at Walmart and saw someone buy plug in candles and said "for when the power goes out" and I did nothing to stop her.

Many times the Fire department has come to my house because I was burning trash and someone driving by would see the smoke and call 911. After a few times I would just cal the Fire Dept. before I burt anything...

Exactly. A power outage light,usually LEDs that are recharged when power is on.Some can give approximately 5-15 hours of light!
