Just watched a special on the US making of the atomic bomb
Question to the international players. What do you think of the US use of atomic weapons in WW2?

Well it was awful, and a great lose of innocent civilians. However when you look at how many American troops, Japanese troops, and civilians would have died you realize that maybe it was for the greater good. The Japanese weren't going to give up.

I wouldn't call it the greater good though. More like the lesser of two evils.

I think it's fucked the state of rhode island observes "victory over japan day." I wanted to sell to sushi rolls as a special the other week. the Hiroshima roll. and the Nagasaki Maki.

You know the Japanese were ready to surrender right? You didn't need to kill thousands of people, in fact your government wanted to see what would happen. Right after the bombs went off your government sent in scientists to perform tests on the dead and dying. Not only did the blast survivors have to live through the horror of an atomic explosion they became lab rats for your scientists.

Is dying from an atomic weapon worse then being fire bombed in Germany, burned in a concentration camp because you were a Jew, killed by a car bomb by the IRA, gassed by saddam Hussein?
Between Russia and Germany how many MILLIONS of Jews were killed?
-
anyway the fire-bombing of Tokyo killed more and did more damage than the a-bomb

The atomic bombs were the two worst acts of terrorism ever committed. America is a country of hypocrites and that's why they are hated around the world.

So you dont think your country is great? I feel bad for you. It's called patriotism, and yes I feel my country is great and not yours. you should feel the same way.

Just to clarify I don't hate America. I've been there once and I liked it. Friendly people. But the reason so many people hate America, is not envy. I won't get into reasons because I dont want to get into the debate. I really don't care.Dr. Robotnik wrote:

@dr. Rob. Actually I started this thread to get a discussion about how Americans are perceived and how we perceive the world. I, like most Americans and even more so most southern Californians think a lot about where we live
